Wolves continued to reign over the competition on Wednesday night against the Bronchos from Holly High School.
JV kickers began the night with their second shutout, 5-0, and took 12 shots on goal.
Only one goal snuck past Captain Scott Messer during the second half of the varsity game. The boys won, 8-1.

Going to a rival turf didn’t faze Clarkston kickers as they beat Lake Orion on Tuesday, 2-0.
Thursday night the boys hosted Detroit Catholic Central. After a fierce 80 minutes from both sides the game ended with no goals scored from either team.
The boys travel to Stoney Creek on Tuesday, and host Rochester on Thursday.
For both games, JV begins at 5:30 p.m., varsity follows.

The Girls Varsity Basketball team heads to Fenton for the first round of regionals on Tuesday, 8 p.m.

Lady Wolves climbed to the top Wednesday night, beating Fenton 38-31.
They head to Brandon High School on Friday night to battle Grand Blanc for the District title.

Clarkston Cagers beat West Bloomfield 64-22 on Tuesday night.
It puts the boys 11-2 in the league and closer to the OAA Red title. A win at Southfield-Lathrup on Friday will clinch the title.

Icers beat Grand Blanc in the first round of Pre-Regionals, 5-3.
They face off against Flint Kearsley on Thursday night, 6 p.m. at Detroit Skate Center.

Lady Kickers finished their regular season with a victory over Lapeer West, 1-0.
Lisa Lyons scored the winning goal in the second half of the Clarkston Girls Varsity Soccer game on May 24, with an assist from Lindsey Adams.
Katie Miller made two saves in the game.
The girls went into the first round of MHSAA District playoffs with a 7-7-3 record.
They faced Oxford the first round. The winner plays on Thursday at 7 p.m. against the Lake Orion/Waterford Kettering winner.
The finals are on Saturday at Lake Orion, 1 p.m.

Lady Hitters defeated Rochester Adams in their double-header on May 24, 8-1 and 12-0.
Sydney Hasselbach hit a two-run home run in the Clarkston Girls Varsity Softbal team’s second game and hit 2-for-3. Samantha Hoeksema had three strikeouts.
Rachel Pytel hit 4-for-4 and Liz Zezula hit 2-for-3 and Megan Hastings struck out four batters in the first game.
The girls played Rochester on Tuesday in a double header.
They play in the MHSAA District playoffs on Saturday. The first game is Clarkston against Waterford Mott at 9:30 a.m.
The winner moves on to finals set for 4:30 p.m. Both games are in Clarkston.

The Clarkston Boys Varsity Track team finished in 20th place during the 52nd Annual Oakland County Championships at Milford High School on Friday, scoring a 14.
Novi Detroit Catholic Central finished in first with 75 points.
Adam Bruderick finished in third place during the 800-meter, in the time of 1:58.44.
CJ Gozdor finished in fifth place in the high jump event with 6?2″ and the 3,200-meter relay team also finished in fifth, 8:14.74.
The Lady Wolves tied for 27th during the Oakland County Championships, sharing the spot with North Farmington, Birmingham Groves and Cranbrook Kingswood, each scoring six points.
Kayla Sherwood finished in fifth place in the shot put with 35’8.” The 3,200-meter relay team finished in seventh at 9:38.06.
Next for the athletes is the MHSAA State Finals this Friday and Saturday in Rockford.

Clarkston is hosting the softball and baseball district playoffs this week.
The action continues Saturday.
The girls and boys will compete against Waterford Mott at 10 a.m.
The winner will continue to play the final round at noon.

On Thursday, girls soccer and boys golf ended their season after being defeated in their regional competitions.
Kickers lost to Lake Orion, 2-0.

After beating Huron Valley Lakeland, 6-5, in overtime, boys Lacrosse will continue on in MHSAA regional playoffs on Wednesday night against University of Detroit-Jesuit.
They will play at Walled Lake Northern at 6 p.m.

Varsity softball players slayed rivals, Lake Orion Dragons, in both their double-header games, 6-5 and 7-0.
Both track teams were victorious in Southfield. Girls won 78-50 and boys 75-53.
Tennis beat Rochester, 5-3.
Girls lacrosse lost to Rochester, 15-9.

Lady kickers fought an intense battle against Farmington visitors.
They tied their game, 2-2.
Their next home game is Monday night against Groves.
Players invite all area youth players for “Youth Soccer Night” on Monday. When you wear your soccer jersey, you will get in for free. There will a soccer shoot-out during half-time and prizes for the winners.
Before the weekend, the girls play tonight at Grand Blanc High School.
Both games begin with JV at 5:30 p.m., varsity follows.
Varsity tennis won their game against Troy, 6-2.
In the double header at Utica Stevenson, the Lady Wolves lost both their games (3-0, 17-16.)
They will play in the Farmington Mercy Tournament on Saturday.

Varsity lacrosse added one more win to their record after hosting Ontario visitors, Essex High School.
Jon Avery led the team to their 11-6 win.
Next game for lacrosse is against Waterford United on Tuesday.

The rival against Lake Orion has taken a new form on the field. Clarkston girls lacrosse teams played Lake Orion last night. For the Dragons it was their second game since they started the sport this year.

The Wolves taught them some tricks of the trade and ended the games as a tie.

JV tied 3-3 and the varsity team’s score was 5-5.

The girls next game is next Monday at Troy Athens.

The boys lacrosse teams games against Lake Orion for Thursday have been postponed. The new day is May 1. JV will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday night brought wins, losses, and ties to Clarkston teams.

Girls varsity tennis won their match at Seaholm High School, 5-3. Next game for the team is on Thursday at 4 p.m. They will host Troy.

The varsity girls track team won their meet at Rochester Adams, 65-54. Boys lost to Adams, 87-41. Both teams have an the Saline Invitational on Saturday.

The Varsity baseball team loss on game at Brandon High School, 10-8. The second game was at a tie, 1-1, before it was stopped due to darkness.

The JV team won both of their game against Brandon, 9-3 and 22-3.

Baseball plays at West Bloomfield tonight at 4 p.m.

Girls varsity lost their game against Avondale, 2-1. They will host Farmington on Thursday. JV begins at 5:30 p.m., varsity follows.

Girls varsity lacrosse lost to Hartland, 11-7. Their next game will be Monday night as they host Swartz Creek. JV begins at 6:30 with varsity following.

Girls varsity tennis started out their season with their first win over Troy-Athens, 7-1.
The girls will host cross-town rival, Lake Orion, on Friday night. The match begins at 4 p.m.

The weather pushed the baseball team’s Wednesday game against Mott to next Thursday. They will play at Groves High School on Friday. On Monday, they will host Stoney Creek. Both games begin at 4 p.m.

On Tuesday, boys and girls track fought against the wind and cold at their meet against West Bloomfield.
The girls team won their meet, 71-48. The boys team lost, 73-46.

The boys varsity Lacrosse team started the season with their first game against Seaholm High School. They lost the game, 11-4.
They will play another away game against Notre Dame Prep on Saturday. JV will begin at 11 a.m. with varsity following.

A defeat over Flint Southwestern, 59-48, sends the Wolves into the quarterfinal playoff next Tuesday against Saginaw High School.
The game is held at Davison High School and begins at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday they beat East Kentwood, 4-1.

Cagers won districts playoffs after beating Waterford Mott, 65-43.

Julius Porter made the winning two points at the line in the last 22 seconds of the game.
The junior varsity team lost to West Bloomfield, 48-43.
The team played Pontiac Northern previously in the week and won, 77-62.
The two wins led them to a record, 18-2.
The Varsity will begin district playoffs on Monday. They play Waterford Kettering at 7:00 p.m.
Clarkston is hosting the district playoffs.

Cagers turned up the heat in the second half of their game on Friday and won against Utica, 60-43.
They have two more games of the regular season. They are both league games. On Tuesday the team will travel to Pontiac Northern. Then, Thursday they will play their last home game against West Bloomfield.

Valentine’s Day left some teams with a warm feeling, and some with a lost feeling.
Cagers won their home game again Southfield-Lathrup on Thursday, 73-66.
Going into districts, grapplers won their semi-final against Waterford Mott, 69-7. Then, they went on to beat Kettering, 46-18 in the finals.
They will travel to Holly High School next Wednesday to compete for Division 1 team regional against Hartland, Holly, and Detroit Catholic Central.
The girls Varsity ski team won the regional race with a score of 23.
Lady Cagers lost to Marian High School, 42-28. The ladies will begin the MAA Districts on Monday against Oxford. The game is held at Waterford Kettering and will begin at 5:30 p.m.
Icers lost their rematch with Lake Orion, 3-1. They will host North Farmington on Saturday at 6 p.m.

The late start from the road conditions on Tuesday did not stop the Lady Cagers from beating Southfield-Lathrup.
Varsity won their last home game, 30-23. JV won their game, 23-19.
The boys swimming team traveled to Lake Orion to give the hosting team their first loss. Clarkston won 103-83.
The team is now preparing for OAA league meet next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Clarkston is hosting the event.

Cagers battled through the snowy weather on Wednesday to get to Macomb Dakota High School. They beat the home team, 56-38.

On Tuesday, Lady Cagers brought their record up to 10-6 after beating Stoney Creek, 55-30.

Cagers traveled to Southfield on Thursday to they beat the Blue Jays 78-61.
The team will host North Farmington on Monday, Feb. 4.
Icers lost their game to Ketter, 4-2. On Saturday, they will travel to Lakeland Arena in Waterford to play Mott. The game begins at 1:20 p.m.

Tuesday, Lady Cagers beat West Bloomfield, 50-26. The ladies will travel to Kettering on Friday.
Also, winning on Tuesday was the swim team. They beat Berkley 121-65.

Grapplers wrestled their last home meet of the season and faced Temperance-Bedford. They lost 43-20.

Lady Cagers won their rematch with Avondale, 51-26
“It was a great game for us,” said Coach Tim Wasilk.
The ladies ran the court in offensive and defensive harmony to lead them to an overall record of 7-5.
The Lady Wolves will travel to Pontiac Northern on Thursday. They played Pontiac Northern earlier in the season and lost. The team is ready for a rematch.

Thursday night brought a loss for the Cagers and a win for the Icers.
Cagers lost 50-47 after traveling to West Bloomfield, bringing their overall record 8-1.
West Bloomfield was ready for the Wolves, and kept up in score throughout the entire game.
With just a few seconds remaining in the game, the score was tied 47-47.
Joshua Eichelberger shot a three point basket to win the game for West Bloomfield.
Wolves will participate in the Martin Luther King Classic on Sunday at Pontiac Northern. They will play at 4:45 p.m. against Saginaw Arthur Hill.

Icers were also tied at the end of their game on Thursday, 3-3.
Birmingham Consolidated and Clarkston went into a five minute overtime to break the score.
With 42 seconds left, Michael Fiteny scored the winning goal with assistance from Adam Frank and John Frakes.
The Wolves will host Grosse Pointe North at Detroit Skate Club on Saturday. The game will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Cheer On!
The Varsity Cheerleading team took third place in their OAA Division II league meet on Wednesday.
They scored 640 points in the three rounds they competed.
Adams High School took first place, followed by Waterford Mott in second place.
West Bloomfield took fourth place and Lahser took last place.
The Lady Wolves will compete against the same four schools again next Tuesday at Adams High School.
“I think we are going to do even better,” said Coach Chandra Price.
The competition begins at 6:30 p.m.

Cagers took their success on the road and secured another win on Tuesday. They scored 70-54 over Flint Northern, bringing their record 8-0.
High scorers for the night were Brandon Pokley, 22, Tom Staton, 13, and Matt Kamieniecki, 10.
Tonight they travel to West Bloomfield. JV begins at 5:30 with Varsity following.
Also this week for team will be the Martin L. King Classic on Sunday. Their game will begin at 4:45 p.m. at Pontiac Northern High School.

Thursday night brought disappointments to the Lady Cagers and Boys swim team.
The Varsity Ladies lost their game with Southfield-Lathrup, 41-14.
“Lathrup competed hard and had a good game plan,” said Coach Tim Wasilk.
Going into their two games next week, Wasilk and the team feel optimistic.
“Going against tough teams, makes you better,” said Wasilk.
The Ladies will play at Carmen-Ainsworth on Monday night, and will host Avondale High School on Friday.
The Boys swim team traveled to North Farmington where they lost, 95-91.
The Boys will travel to Lake Orion High School Saturday for a Relay meet starting at 12 p.m.

Pine Knob reopened on Thursday, allowing the Boys and Girls Varsity teams to compete in their first meet.
In the Giant Slalom, the girls won both their meets against Detroit Country Day and Cranbrook. They scored 10-30 against Country Day and Cranbrook. Out of the nine schools at the meet, the girls were 9-0.
The boys team won their match against Country Day, 17-19, but lost their match with Cranbrook, 26-14.
The boys record for the meet was 3-5-1.
They have a Slalom next Tuesday and a Giant Slalom Wednesday. Both meets are against Notre Dame Prep and Rochester Adams.

On Wednesday night, Grapplers and Swimmers won their competitions.
The Varsity Grapplers faced Rochester and Troy High School for their double meet. They won 38-27 against Rochester, and 49-20.
“Mentally it should have been more of a wake up for them, so they are more prepared,” said Coach Joe DeGain.
On Saturday the team will participate in the Bay City Western Invitational.
“It will be a tough tournament for them on Saturday and it’s one of the toughest in the state. They needed a dual meet like this to get ready for it.”
Against Royal Oak High School, the Boys swim team won 116-69. The win brought the boys to an overall record 4-0.

Keeping their streak going, both the Varsity Cagers and Swim team won their competitions on Tuesday night.
Cagers traveled to Southfield-Lathrup to win 63-55. Next for the Boys will be a home game against Carman Ainworth on Friday.
The Boys Swim team won their meet 117-69 after traveling to Royal Oak.
They have more meets this week. They will compete at North Farmington on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. On Saturday, they will participate in a relay meet at Lake Orion High School at 12 p.m.
The Varsity Ski team will have to wait a little longer for their first competition. Due to the weather changes, Pine Knob closed on Wednesday, post-poning the Wolves meet with Cranbrook-Kingswood and Country Day.
If the weather works to their advantage, they will compete at 4:15 p.m. tomorrow as scheduled.

After traveling to Flint, Lady Cagers suffered another loss when Powers Catholic won, 57-53.

The Cagers came out Friday night to play a high-paced, action-packed game beating cross town rivals Lake Orion, 48-46.
Remaining close in score throughout the game, the Dragons went into the last quarter with a 37-35 lead over the Wolves.
Oliver Kupe tied the score one minute into the quarter.
Teammates, Brandon Pokley, Julius Porter, and Brandon Verlinden contributed six more points to put the Wolves more into the lead.
With close to a minute left of the game, the Dragons’ Jeff Heath brought Lake Orion ahead by one point when he scored a three point field goal.
Kupe and Porter brought Clarkston back and into the lead by one point.
As the seconds counted down, Lake Orion attempted one more shot, which Matt Kamieniecki jumped up and grabbed the ball.

While still on holiday break, Lady Cagers came back to the court with a win over Pontiac Central, 45-27 on Wednesday.
In the first quarter both teams fought hard and ended the quarter with a 6-6 tie.
The Lady Wolves continued a strong defense they had in the first quarter.
In offense plays, they put themselves into the lead and stayed their the remainder of the game.
Also, the JV team won their game against Pontiac Central, 42-35.

Skiers battled an odd winter and used it to their advantage as they won the state championship on Monday.
The Clarkston Boys Varsity Ski team scored 81 points, keeping ahead of Marquette and their 117 points, to make school history.
Derek VanItallie led the team, finishing fourth in the slalom and the giant slalom. More details to come in future editions.

After claiming the OAA Red title, the Lady Wolves continued their momentum by winning the first round of the MHSAA District playoffs on Monday, 48-27.

Icers lost to Lake Orion on Saturday for the OAA Red Championship, 3-2.
They could have an opportunity to play them again as they take on Lake Orion or Lapeer in the MHSAA Pre-Regional game, Thursday, 7:30 p.m. at Detroit Skete Club.

After their third game into the season, the boys Varsity basketball team remains undefeated after they beat Birmingham Groves 70-51 on Tuesday night.
Coach Dan Fife said he didn’t know how they were going to play after the snow day called off practice on Monday.
In the first quarter, the team led the game 25-4 and kept up the momentum throughout the game.
Clarkston will travel to North Farmington High School on Friday for their last game before holiday break. The JV team will start at 5:30 with Varsity following. The school is located at 32900 West 13 Mile Road.

Grapplers suffered a loss to ranked No. 2 team Davison, 35-22.
Jeff Sloney (103) was the only one able to pin Davison, 3:02 into overtime.
Alex Popp (135), Erik Butterfield (160), Adam Lauzun (171), and Bryant Craft (189) helped their team by earning points and winning against their opponents in major decisions.
Next for the team will be the Oakland County Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, they will go to Milford High School, 2380 South Milford Road in Highland. They will start at 3:30 p.m.
Saturday, they will have matches beginning at 9 a.m. at Lake Orion High School, 495 E Scripps Rd.

On Tuesday night, the Varsity Cagers kept their momentum going at they beat Birmingham Groves 70-51.

The team is getting ready for their last game before holiday vacation. They will play North Farmington High School, 32900 West 13 Mile Road in Farmington Hills.
The Junior Varsity team will start at 5:30 p.m., with the Varsity team following at 7 p.m.

Varsity Cagers beat Pontiac Northern 64-39 in Thursday’s match.
Clarkston has been used to facing tough competition Pontiac Northern later in the season, but facing them so early into the season was something new for the boys.
Along with facing them on a Thursday, instead of a Friday.
Despite the changes to the season, the Wolves came out and played.
In the first quarter, Pontiac Northern started ahead, but were quickly surpassed by the Wolves.
The Wolves continued to keep they lead until the end of the game.
The JV team lost their game against Pontiac Northern 35-52.
The Varsity and JV teams will play at Groves High School, 20500 West 13 Mile Road, Beverly Hills. The JV game will start at 5:30 and the Varsity game will follow.

In Wednesday night’s dual meet, Clarkston grapplers showed their competition to fear Wolves.
They beat Avondale 58-10 in their first compeition.
They continued their winning streak as they faced Waterford Kettering and won 48-17.
Friday night they will host Detroit Catholic Central. The meet begins at 5:30 p.m.

Lady Cagers won their OAA crossover game with Troy Athens, 47-35 on Tuesday.
As the fourth quarter began with Troy behind Clarkston by two points, 31-29, the Lady Wolves defended their territory.
They only allowed Troy to score six points, while Clarkston’s offense brought the ball down the court more frequently to score 16 points on Troy’s basket.
The JV team won 35-11.
On Friday, the ladies will travel to West Bloomfield High School at 4925 Orchard Lake Road. The Varsity game will begin at 7 p.m., and the JV team will play at 5:30 p.m.

The Clarkston Boys Varsity Lacrosse A team opened the season with a win over Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, March 27.
They beat the home team, 10-5. Kevin O’ Grady led the team with three goals and two assists.
Jordan Kincaid had two goals and one assist and Mike VanderWeel scored two goals and had two assists.
Travis Craft, Reid Kaminski, and Brad Leuenhagen had one goal each.
Adam Gohl had 10 saves in the net and the defensive team of Evan Kneisel, AJ Schlaff, Ethan Frick and Nick Demattia had a combined total of 11 turnovers.
The varsity lacrosse B team lost their game against Walled Lake Central last Thursday, 9-8. Austin Egler and Cooper Parks led the team with two goals each.

The Clarkston Girls Varsity Soccer team opened last week with a tie against Berkley, March 27.
After Berkley scored in the second half, Lisa Lyons tied the score with her own goal with an assist from teammate Lindsey Adams. Katie Miller had three saves and the Lady Wolves made six shots on the net.
They lost to Royal Oak on Thursday, 2-1, putting their record at 0-2-1.

Clarkston is on spring break and will return next Tuesday. The Girls JV and varsity soccer teams are at Andover High School, beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the track teams compete at home against Rochester Adams, 4:30 p.m.

In basketball, the last five minutes are the most crucial, high-energized minutes of the game. This proved true for the Lady Cagers as they tried to win against Pontiac Northern in their first home game on Thursday night.
In the last ten seconds and three points behind, the Ladies made six attempts on putting the ball through the hoop. They had one more attempt as the referees put one more second on the clock, so Jennifer Johnston could make her shot after Pontiac Northern received a foul. The buzzer ran as the ball missed and Clarkston lost 34-37.

For their first swim meet of the season, the Boys team won 97-83 against Harrison High School on Thursday night.

Lessons were learned from last Saturday’s hockey game with Kettering. The Wolves came out on Wednesday night and played together as a team for a high-paced game with a strong defense effort. They beat Stoney Creek 4-0, bringing their OAA league record to 2-1-1.
The Wolves will face off with Farmington on Saturday at Detroit Skate Center, 888 Denison Court in Bloomfield Hills. The game begins at 6pm.

Clarkston grapplers defeated both Troy Athens (56-12) and Lake Orion (34-26) in their double dual match at Avondale on Wednesday night.
Next for the team, the Herman Wilkinson Classic at Howell High School, 1200 West Grand River on Saturday. The match will start at 9 a.m.

Both Clarkston Track and Field teams continued to top their competitors, this time with wins over Rochester Adams.
The Lady Wolves won 67-61.
Taking first place in nine events were the 3,200-meter relay team of Natalie Smith, Erin Billette, Jill Harris, Kylie Knavish; the 400-meter relay team of Maicey Peterson, Maddie Wilson, Kristen Robinson, Taylor Mullin; Peterson in 100-meter high hurdles; Molly Jeffers in 400-meter dash; Franzi Loetzner in 300-meter low hurdles; Billette in 800-meter run; Kayle Sherwood in shot put and discus; and Anna Manilla in high jump.
The boys beat the Highlanders, 89-39.
They led the way by taking first place in 12 events. The athletes finishing in first were the 3,200-meter relay team of Spenser Pawlik, Nick Moore, Sam Tanielian, Adam Bruderick; 1,600-meter relay team of Tanielian, Bruderick, Travis Smith, Blake Sutherland; 400-meter relay team of Devon Williams, Mike Schwartz, Jared Yaroch, Ian Ericksen; Dan Bryne in 3,200-meter run; Bruderick in 800-meter run; Jordan Shive in 300-meter hurdles; Sutherland in the 400-meter dash; Matt Wright in discus; Schwartz in high jump; Jacob Turner in long jump and Colin Kupper in shot put.
The teams host Lake Orion next Tuesday, 4:30 p.m.

Hitters opened their season with a 9-7 win over Rochester Adams last Wednesday. The Clarkston Boys Varsity Baseball team scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to take the lead.
Dylan Peck led Clarkston by going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. D.J. Zezula went 2-for-3 with a double and scored twice for the Wolves. Jake Forsten was the winning pitcher.
The boys lost to Stoney Creek on Friday, 11-1. They head to Rochester on Friday and host Lake Orion on Monday, both games are at 4:30 p.m.

The Lady Wolves lost to Birmingham Seaholm in their first OAA Red match up in tennis, 6-3.
Katie Brozovich defeated Labina Petrovska, 7-5, 6-3, in singles.
For doubles, Dana and Paige Olsen beat Annie Grier and Arielle Williams, 6-1, 7-5; and Katie Hubregson and Monique Zentner beat Lauren Hextell and Lauren Benderoff, 6-4, 6-3.
They headed into their match against Rochester on Tuesday with a 0-2 record. They head to West Bloomfield on Thursday, 4:30 p.m. and go to the Pioneer Invite on Saturday.

The Clarkston Varsity Golf team won their first meet, April 9 at Franklin Hills. They led the way with a score of 165. Cranbrook had 166 and Lake Orion, 171. The four golfers counting in the match were Jimmy Delnick with a par of 38; Jack Alli, 41; Nick Surovec, 42; and Cam Krausman, 44.

The Varsity Hockey team played their first home game on Thursday against Waterford Mott. They won 4-1. They will play Waterford Kettering Saturday at 1:20 at Lakeland Ice Arena located at 7330 Highland Road, Waterford.

Varsity Wrestling started their season Thursday night at the Goodrich Quad.
Against Goodrich, they lost with a score 23-33. In their last match against Grand Blanc they came back fierce when they won 56-10. Next for the wrestlers, Saturday they go to John Glenn High School. The meet begins at 9am at 36105 Maquette Street in Westland
The JV team’s meet for Saturday at Carmen Ainsworth has been cancelled.

Golfers took 14th place at the Oakland County Division 1 tournament at Pontiac Country Club, May 16.
The Clarkston Boys Varsity Golf team scored a 329 with Dan Corrazza leading the team with a par of 79. Jack Alli had a par of 82; Nick Badgley, 83; Alex Genter, 85; and Jimmy Delnick, 86
Novi took first place with a score of 309.

The Clarkston Boys Varsity A Lacrosse team held onto their winning streak last Friday against Midland.
Going into the second half both teams were tied at five points a piece. The Wolves came out scoring 4-1 in the third quarter and scoring three more goals in the last quarter to win 12-6.
Jordan Kincaid and Travis Craft led the team with three goals each. Kincaid had three assists and Craft had two. Sam Moore added two for the game. Kevin Horton, Kevin O’Grady, Mike Vanderweel, Connor Ward had one goal each.
Ethan Frick, Evan Kneisel, Nick Demettia and AJ Schlaff led the defense with 13 ground balls and 15 takeaways.
The boys also beat DeLaSalle on May 15, 9-4. They outscored the visitors 6-1 in the second half to take the win.
Craft led the team with four goals. Horton added three and Kincaid had two goals. O’Grady assisted on three goals.
The wins put the Wolves at an overall 14-2 record.
The Wolves begin their playoffs on Friday, 6 p.m. The winner moves on to the next round set for May 29.

The Lady Kickers ended their regular season with a tie against their crosstown rivals Lake Orion, 0-0.
The Clarkston Girls Varsity Soccer team made four shots on the net and goalie Katie Miller saved two shots.
The girls played Carman-Ainsworth on Tuesday in the first round of district playoffs. The winner plays Thursday in the semi-finals and in the finals on Saturday. Both games are in Davison. They went in to playoffs with a 8-6-4 record.

Hitters lost both their double header games to Lake Orion on May 22, 8-2 and 4-2.
For the Clarkston Boys Varsity Baseball team, Alex Peck hit a triple and had one RBI. Jake Forsten pitched four innings and threw five strikeouts, putting the boys 19-8 and 10-6 in the OAA Red.
The boys head into MHSAA Districts this Friday. They play the winner of the Waterford Mott/Lake Orion game at 2:30 p.m. The winner moves on to the finals at 5 p.m. Both games are at Lake Orion High School.

Alex Genter finished as one of the top individuals in the fifth OAA Red Jamboree for the Clarkston Boys Varsity Golf team with a par of 37.
Teammates Cam Krausman finished with a par of 39; Nick Badgley, 41; Alex McIntosh, 42; Jack Alli, 43; and Nick Surovec, 44.
The team finished in the jamboree in sixth place with 159. Rochester took first place with 143 after nine holes at Twin Lakes.
The boys compete in districts this Friday at Bald Mountain Golf Course against Fenton, Grand Blanc, Lake Orion, Oxford, Pontiac, Rochester, Rochester Adams, Stoney Creek, Romeo, Waterford Kettering and Waterford Mott.

Athletes from the Clarkston track teams finished the Freshman Oakland County Championships on top.
The girls took first place with 56 points and the boys tied for third with Avondale, 38.
For the boys, David Posawatz took first in the 3,200-meter run; Merrick Canada second place, long jump; Daniel Billette, second, 1,600-meter run; and the 3,200-meter relay team in fourth place.
For the girls, Lynsie Gram, first, 1,600-meter run, second in 3,200-meter run; Maddie Wilson, second, 100- and 200-meter dash; Jessica Altene, third, long jump; and 800-meter relay team in third.

Runners took first place at the Golden Grizzly at Oakland University on Friday, scoring 67.
Leading the Clarkston Girls Varsity Cross Country team were Nicole Hanson, finishing third at 20:25; Lynsie Gram, fifth at 20:30; and Kaitlin Catania, eighth at 21:02.
The boys and girls teams head to the West Bloomfield/Brother Rice Invitational this Saturday at Kensington Metropark in Milford, 9:30 a.m.

The boys varsity tennis team took second place at the Northville Quad, going 2-1 for the day. They beat Lakeland, 8-1, Plymouth, 6-3, and lost to Northville, 7-2.
Alexis Haselwanter, Singles #4, and Dan Agnew and Jeff Zittel, Doubles #3, finished in first place and received a gold medal for going 3-0 for the day.
Placing in second place were Ian Stuart, Singles #2, Brendan Greenlee, Singles #3, and Joey and Johnny Whall, Doubles #1, for going 2-1 for the day.
The boys lost to Troy Athens, 6-3, Aug. 28. Stuart, Haselwanter and the Whalls won their matches. They host Avondale at 4 p.m., Thursday.

The Clarkston Varsity Girls Volleyball team was undefeated at the Grand Blanc Classic on Saturday, 5-0.
During the championship round they defeated Novi, 25-23 and 25-10.
For the day, Rachel Dickerson had 53 kills and 52 digs, Brianna Frakes had 90 assists and eight aces, and Emily Popp had 55 digs and five aces.
The Lady Wolves host the home opener this Thursday against Seaholm with JV starting at 5:30 p.m., varsity follows.

The Clarkston Girls Swim and Dive team won their meet against Farmington Hills Harrison last Thursday, 98-88.
Taking first place were: Kathryn Culver , 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle; Sami Stelpflug, 200-yard IM and 100-yard breaststroke; Amber Hallman, 100-yard backstroke; 200-yard medley relay with Hallman, Stelpflug, Natalie Vela and Ceren Ege; and the 400-yard freestyle relay with Culver, Stelpflug, C.J. Hughes and Taylor Tekiele. The team is now 3-1.

The Clarkston Boys Varsity tennis team was back on the court last week.
They won two matches against Avondale, 8-1, and Lake Orion, 6-3.
Matt Dahl, Brendan Greenlee and Alexis Haselwanter had wins against both teams on the Singles Court and Ian Stuart defeated Avondale.
For doubles, Mitch Rogowski and Scott Schultz; Dan Agnew and Jeff Zittel defeated both teams. Ray Coyle and Tyler Socin posted a win over Lake Orion. Socin with Sean McNeil defeated Avondale whil Joey and Johnny Whall also had a win over Avondale. The boys are now 5-3 and 3-1 in the OAA White. They host Rochester on Thursday, 4 p.m.

Runners in the Girls Cross Country team took second place at the Oakland County Championships last Saturday with 138 points.
Nicole Hanson led the way as she finished in ninth, at 19:08. Lynsie Gram took 16th and Erin Billette took 28th place.
The boys finished in 20th with Dan Billette leading. He finished in 19th place at 16:46.
Both teams head to Gabriel Richard at Hudson Mills this Saturday.

Clarkston Varsity Girls Volleyball team topped two league opponents last week.
They opened with a 3-0 win over Oxford, 25-27, 25-21, 26-24. Rachel Dickerson Emily Popp had 28 digs, and Katie Chadwell had 12 kills.
They also beat Troy, 3-0, with 25-13, 25-23, 25-20. Sarah Bullen 12 kills and five, Dickerson had 14 kills and Popp had 17 digs.
The team went 3-2 at the Marian Tournament on Saturday. They lost one game in their pool play but came out of the pool seeded first. They beat Troy and Portage Central.
“Portage Central was a good one for us because they are ranked as one of the top teams in Class A,” said Coach Kelly Avenall.
They beat Seaholm in the quarterfinals but lost to Mercy in the semifinals, 2-1, 25-27, 25-12 and 11-15.
Dickerson had 43 kills and 37 digs, Popp had 67 digs, and Brianna Frakes 9 aces and 99 assists.
The girls are now 35-5-1, 5-0 OAA
They head to Rochester on Thursday, Beast of the East on Saturday and are home on Tuesday against Adams. JV starts at 5:30 p.m., varsity follows.

The Lady Wolves came back from holiday break to beat Sterling Heights Stevenson, 61-23.
Erika Davenport led the team with 15 points and 16 rebounds and Jessica Altene added seven points and had seven rebounds in the game.
The girls head to Southfield-Lathrup this Friday, 7 p.m.

Icers got the new year started with a 2-point lead against OAA opponents Farmington on Saturday.
Adam Johns and Alex Tanielian scored the goals in the first period for the Clarkston Varsity Hockey team and by the second period Farmington had tied the game.
Farmington won the game with a goals scored 4:44 in the overtime period, 3-2. Jack Viazanko made 30 saves in the net.
The Wolves beat Rochester Unified on Dec. 21, 6-4.
A.J. Kowal opened the scoring with a goal, and Rochester Unified answered with three goals in a span of two minutes. Roman Reiner, Kyle Hogarth and Jacob LaPorte brought the Wolves back up and into a 4-3 lead.
Garrett Polish and Joe Smith scored in the third period to secure the win.
Nick Surovec had 25 saves in the game.
The boys are 4-9, 1-3-1 in the OAA.
They head to Holland’s Edge Arena to take on Grand Haven this Saturday, 1 p.m.

The Wolves are rolling in wins on the lanes for bowling. The boys varsity and JV teams posted three wins before break. The varsity team beat Lake Orion, 22-8, Holly, 27-3, and Troy, 19-11.
The JV team beat Lake Orion, 30-0, Holly, 24-6, and Troy, 28-2.
The girls varsity team had two wins – against Holly, 22-8, and Troy, 30-0. They lost to Lake Orion.

Skiers continue to reign on the mountain as the Clarkston Boys Varsity Ski team raced past two more foes.
They beat Notre Dame Prep, 24-69, and Rochester, 20-65.
Finishing in the top ten in the Slalom were Lance Holsbeke in second at 44.28; Alex McIntosh, third, 44.35; Derek VanItallie, sixth, 45.66.
For the Giant Slalom,VanItallie led in third place finishing in 35.23. McIntosh finished in fourth place at 35.38; Ryan Callahan, fifth, 35.40; and Holsbeke, eighth, 35.50.
The girls team beat Rochester, 28-50, and lost to Notre Dame, 32-40.
Finishing in the top ten for the girls’ team was Karoline Holsbeke in fifth place in 50.56 and Caroline Spytman finished in sixth place at 50.70. She led the team in the Giant Slalom with her ninth place finish in 37.57.

The bowling teams were successful on the lanes. Against Berkley, the JV boys won 28-2; varsity boys won 27-3; and varsity girls won 23-7. Against Farmington Hills Harrison, JV won 26-4; varsity boys, 26-4; and varsity girls, 17-13.

Clarkston Varsity Cheerleading team took first place at the OAA White Jamboree #3 on Saturday.
Clarkston scored a total of 718.74 points. They scored 215.1 in the first round; 211.64, second round; and 292 in the third round. They head to the North Farmington Invite this Saturday and compete in the MHSAA Districts in Davison next Saturday.

Clarkston Varsity Wrestling team took third place in the OAA Red-White Super Meet on Saturday with 212 points.
They finished the league in second place with 10 points and a 5-0 record. Oxford took first place with 11 points.
For the tournament, Adam Myers (215) took first place; Chris Calvano (189), Luis Reyes (285) and Nick Vandermeer (152) took second.
Mitchell Nelson (103), Cameron Wilkie (125), and Tyler Slating (140) placed third; Brett Foltz (119) finished in fourth; Nate Vandermeer (112) finished in fifth; Josh Cohoon (171) and Cal Heady (130) placed in sixth; Jake Dionne (135) and Kas Waitkus (145) finished in seventh place.
The Wolves start MHSAA Districts this week. They have the team districts on Wednesday at Waterford Kettering, 6 p.m.
They will take on Waterford Mott and the winner moves on to take on the Pontiac/Waterford Kettering winner for the championship.
They head to the individual districts on Saturday at Walled Lake Central.

The Wolves finished the OAA White Division league meet in second place, Feb. 22.
The Clarkston Boys Swim team scored 499.5 points and West Bloomfield took first place with 527 points. They both finished the season as co-champions since Clarkston finished undefeated in their OAA White league dual meets.
Seniors Eric Misteravich and Landon Holloway, sophomore Dalton Pokley, and freshman James Nelson opened the meet with a new league record time of 1:39.45 in the 200-yard medley relay.
Pokley went on to win the league championships in the 50-yard freestyle, in the time of 22.04, and the 100-yard butterfly, in 53.37.
Holloway won the league championship in the 100-yard backstroke in 56.10.
Junior Joe Zendejas topped the league diving competion with a final score of 374.65 points in the diving portion.

Clarkston Varsity Hockey finished the regular season in fourth place at the OAA Red Playoff Tournament on Saturday.
They lost to Farmington Hills, 4-1.
The Wolves opened the game with a goal from junior Garrett Polish.
The Flyers came back from behind in the second period to score three goals after shooting 17 shots on the Wolves’ net.
Junior goalie Nick Surovec made 29 saves in the net during the game.
Clarkston played Lake Orion in the first round of the MHSAA Pre-Regionals on Tuesday and lost 5-3.
Orion moves on in the second round on Thursday to play the Fenton/Grand Blanc winner at 7 p.m., Detroit Skate Club, 888 Denison Circle, Bloomfield Hills.
The MHSAA Regional final is Saturday at 12 p.m., Onyx Ice Arena, 52999 Dequindre Road in Rochester Hills.

Clarkston Varsity Cheerleaders finished the season at the MHSAA Districts at Davison High School, Feb. 15.
They finished in fifth place out of 14 teams. They scored 706.9 points after three rounds.
The Lady Wolves scored 222.5 points in the first round; 197.7 points in the second round; and 286.7 in the final round.
Lake Orion took first place with 748.8 points. Oxford finished second; Bay City, third and Davison, fourth.

The Clarkston Boys Varsity Lacrosse team beat St. Frances on Saturday afternoon, 14-4. Connor Ward led the team with five goals and had two assists. Kyle O’Graddy scored three goals and had two assists; AJ Kowal, two goals; Connor Dziewit, one goal and assists; Robert Hall, Reid Kaminski and Keaton Mitchell had one goal.
The team recovered 43 ground balls during the game with eight from Kaminski; seven from Hall; and five from Evan Kneisel and Austin Egler.
The Wolves opened the week against Rochester Adams on Tuesday. They host Farmington on Wednesday, 7 p.m.. They head to Lake Orion on Saturday, 2 p.m.

The Clarkston Boys Varsity Golf team placed second out of 18 teams at the Milliken Millworks Invitational at Indianwood Country Club on Monday.

Brendon Graham was the medalist of the tournament by shooting 71. Cam Krausman 76, Nick Badgley 78, Jack Alli 81, TJ Craven 83.
They finished in fourth places at the OAA Red league tournament at Boulder Pointe, April 15. Jack Alli led the team with a par of 79. They scored 326. Lake Orion took first place with 315; Stoney Creek, second, 320; Rochester Adams, third, 324; Rochester, fifth, 328; and Troy, sixth, 332.

Clarkston Girls Varsity Soccer team fell to Avondale on Friday, 4-1.
Maddie Herbert scored the lone goal for the Wolves with an assist from Shelby Hopper in the second half.
The Lady Wolves were 3-1-2, 1-1-2 OAA White as they started the week on Tuesday against North Farmington.
They head to Lapeer West on Thursday and are back home on Friday as they host Lake Orion. JV begins at 5:30 p.m., varsity follows.

It was a busy weekend for the Lady Wolves as they played different tournaments.
The Clarkston Girls Varsity Tennis team won the Red & White Holly Invite on Saturday.
Lexi Baylis, Isabella Spindler and Dana Olsen won their respective courts for the singles championships against Port Huron Northern.
Baylis beat Allie Sweeney, 6-0, 6-0; Spindler beat Lizzie Brozovich, 6-1, 5-7, (11-9); Olsen beat Rae Brozovich, 6-4, 6-7.
The team of Paige Olsen and Alex Whall won the No. 1 court for doubles in the championships against Olivia Underwood and Sammy Bakken, 6-0, 7-5.
The wins in flight championships broke tie against Port Huron and Farmington Hills Mercy.
They beat Andover 5-4 with a sweep in all the singles courts from Baylis, Spindler, Dana and Katie Hubregsen. For doubles, Paige Olsen and Whall took the win for the team.
The girls lost to Cranbrook, 5-3. Dana and Katie Hubregsen won their matches on their singles courts while doubles team Paige and Whall won their match, 6-1, 6-4, to score for Clarkston.
The girls tied for second place in the Ann Arbor Huron Invitational on April 27. They tied with Mercy, both scoring 14 points. Port Huron Northern and Ann Arbor Huron took first with 15 points.
Spindler and Dana won their championship matches for the singles courts and Paige and Whall won for doubles.

Clarkston Girls Varsity Softball team finished the 21st Annual Michigan Stars tournament during the weekend going 2-1.
They opened the tournament against Birmingham Groves with a loss, 8-6. They had four hits and Rachel Vieira hit a home run.
They beat Clio, 14-1. Abby Skvarce had four hits with a double.
They finished with a 6-2 win against St. Clair Shores Lakeview where Sydney Hasselbach and Alex Favazza both hit homeruns. Madeline Maday was the winning pitcher with two runs on three hits.
The girls began the week with two losses in their double header against Lake Orion, 9-8 and 11-9.
Vieira hit two homeruns and had six RBIs during the two games. Hasselbach hit one homerun and a double during the day with two RBIs. Kitchen hit two doubles and had four RBIs.
The girls lost to Swartz Creek on Thursday, 6-3. Skvarce hit a double and Kitchen had two RBIs.
They host a double header on Wednesday against Farmington and head to Rochester on Thursday.

The Clarkston Boys Varsity Baseball team went 3-1 last week.
They lost to Waterford Kettering 5-2 and beat Kettering 8-4 in the double header last Thursday.
They beat Stoney Creek 7-3 in nine inning, May 15. Laporte hit 3-for-5 and had two RBIs and Ryan Rea hit 2-for-5, hit a homerun and had three RBIs.
Cox pitched four innings and had one strikeout and David Steward pitched two innings and had one strikeout.
They won the second game in five innings, 15-4. Joe Popp hit a homerun, hit 2-for-3 and had four RBIs.

The boys varsity golf team tied for sixth place in the Oakland County meet with a score of 320.

Runners competed in the West Bloomfield/Brother Rice Invitational at Kensington Metropark on Saturday.
Grant Henley led the Clarkston Boys Cross Country team in Division 1, finishing in the top 15 in the 14th spot in 17:30.
The team finished in 12th place with 240 points. Ann Arbor Pioneer finished in first place with 71 points.
The girls cross country team finished in sixth place with 190 points. Northville finished in first with 30 points.
The Lady Wolves opened the season with the Golden Grizzly High School Invite, Aug. 30.
They finished in seventh place with 182 points. Lynsie Gram led the team, finishing in fifth place at 20:49. Sage Beauregard finished in 19th place, 21:30.
Both teams compete in the OAA #1 meet next Tuesday at Bloomer Park, 345 John R Road in Rochester Hills at 4:30 p.m.

Clarkston Girls Varsity Volleyball team went 4-1-1 for the day at the Grand Blanc Tournament on Saturday.
They beat Novi in the semifinals and lost to Lake Orion in the finals. The Lady Wolves won the first game 27-26 but lost the next two games. Senior Brianna Frakes had 119 assists and six aces during the day. Junior Taylor Dellinger had 57 kills and senior Katie Chadwell had 45 kills and eight blocks.
The girls head to the Flushing Invite on Saturday then they host a quad on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Senior Sabrina Zayec led the team with a 49 par. Senior Dana Olsen had a 51; junior Caitlin McCaghy and senior Amanda Hampton, 52; senior Stephanie Jewell, 55; and senior Katie McKnee, 57.

Clarkston Girls Swim & Dive team remain undefeated after two more wins over Troy and Seaholm last week.
The Lady Wolves beat Troy last Thursday, 127-59, and took first in 11 out of 12 events.
For relay races Megan Stelpflug, Sami Stelpflug, Natalie Vela and Kathryn Culver took first in the 200-yard medley relay. Culver, Sami, CJ Hughes and Ceren Ege took first in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Hughes, Ege, Megan and Emma Barnes finished in 3:51.74 for the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Three swimmers took first in multiple individual events: Culver, 200-yard freestyle, 1:57.25; and 100-yard backstroke, 1:02.2; Sami, 200-yard IM, 2:12.08; and 500-yard freestyle; 5.15.80; and Hughes, 50-yard freestyle, 25.10; and 100-yard freestyle, 55.22.
Nicole Hurst took first in diving, and Vela, 100-yard butterfly, 1:04.59.
They beat Seaholm on Sept. 17, 96-90, taking first in eight events.
Sami took first in the 200-yard IM; Culver, 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle; Rebecca Didion, diving; Megan, 500-yard freestyle; 200-yard freestyle relay; Ege, 100-yard backstroke and 400-yard freestyle relay.
The girls host Birmingham Groves on Thursday and head in with an overall 7-0 record.

The Clarkston Girls Cross Country team finished in fifth place with 132 points. Birmingham Seaholm took first with 22 points.
Senior Sage Beauregard led the team, finishing in 20th place at 20:28.5. Finishing off the top five runners were freshman Alex Gladding took 24th place; junior Helen Jeffers, 28th; sophomore Kelsey Hunt, 29th; and sophomore Kaitlyn Cavallo, 31st.
The boys finished in sixth place with 114 points. Lake Orion took first place with 56 points.
Sophomore Grant Henley led the team finishing in fifth place at 16:56.9. Junior Tyler Dunn took 15th; sophomore Nick Paris, 39th; sophomore Derrick Egli, 40th; and freshman Gavin Eisert, 45th, to finish the top five for Clarkston.
The teams ran in the second jamboree at Stony Creek Metro Park on Tuesday and head to Dehlia Park on Saturday.

Swimmers took second place at the Oakland County meet on Saturday at Lake Orion with 244 points.
Farmington Hills Mercy took first place with 429 points. and Birmingham Marian took third with 220.5 points.
CJ Hughes, Sami Stelpflug, Megan Stelpflug and Kathryn Culver led the way in the 400-yard freestyle taking first place in 3:34.18.
The Lady Wolves also took fourth place in two other relay events. Culver, Sami, Ceren Ege and Natalie Vela finished at 1:49.75 in the 200-yard medley relay event. Hughes, Ege, Stelpflug and Emma Barnes finished in 1:41.86 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Four swimmers placed in the top eight in more than one event: Sami took third place in the 200-yard individual medley and fourth place in the 100-yard breaststroke event;
Culver finished in third place in the 100-yard freestyle and fourth place in the 50-yard freestyle;
Megan finished in third place 500-yard freestyle event and sixth place in the 200-yard freestyle;
Ege finished in seventh in the 200-yard individual medley and eighth place in the 100-yard backstroke.
Kelsey Gilbert finished in seventh place in the 500-yard freestyle and Hughes took eighth place in the 50-yard freestyle.

Birmingham Seaholm took first place with 36 points out of the 32 schools at the meet.
The boys team finished in 21st place with 523 points out of the 37 teams at the meet. Waterford Mott finished in first place, scoring 88 points.
Sophomore Grant Henley led the Wolves finishing in 16:57 in 18th place. Tyler Dunn, William Eisert, Derrick Egli and Luke Oldford finished in the top five places.

The girls team wasn’t as lucky last night. Rochester Adams held them down to 32 points and the Highlanders won with 41 points.
Kayle Brimacombe led with nine points from three- 3-point shots. Megan Hasting and Jena Manilla had six points each.
The girls lost to Southfield-Lathrup on Thursday, 43-26.
Next the girls will play North Farmington on Monday.

The boys beat Southfield-Lathrup, 57-36.
They travel to Pontiac-Central on Tuesday night to continue on their streak.
They are currently 14-0.

Tuesday night was a successful night for Cagers as the Boys and Girls posted victories.
The Boys team led the first half of the game against Troy, 39-41. They continued to rein throughout the remainder of the game, winning 66-41.
Matt Kamieniecki led the game with 20 points, and Brandon Pokley added 17 to the board. Both scored two 3-points shots.

Lady Cagers went in to the second half of their game three points behind Rochester.
The girls scored 15 points during the third quarter adding a boost to lead the game.
“We got some shots out and the girls did a good job adjusting to the different defenses Rochester threw at us,” said Girls Varsity Coach TIm Wasilk.
“It was a nice win and they played pretty hard. The big thing was we played four quarters of good basketball.”

Cagers begin another week on top.
The boys varsity team won their game at Pontiac Central last night, 70-46.
Matt Kamieniecki and Brandon Pokley led the Wolves, scoring 12 points. Luke Prudhomme contributed ten points with two 3-point throws and was 4-4 at the line.
The boys travel to Southfield on Friday night to continue their reign in the OAA Red.

Grapplers took down Holly on Wednesday night to move on to the MHSAA Team Regionals next week at Anchor Bay High School in Fair Haven.
They beat Holly, 49-22.

Maddy Dunn won the Giant Slalom yesterday at Mount Holly, securing the team’s place in the regional meet.

Going into another overtime game for the second game of the week, the Wolves were not going to lose their last home basketball game.
They beat Pontiac Northern, 52-47.

After being on cruise control for the first 18 games of the season, the Wolves lost their first basketball game on Tuesday night.
They battled at West Bloomfield’s gym through two overtime periods before ending the game, 56-53.
With the Wolves a defeat only means one thing – it will show their character on how they take it and turn it around when they battle Pontiac Northern tomorrow night.

Wolves set their defense traps last night and blocked Waterford Kettering from going on in the final round of districts.
At halftime Clarkston was only three points ahead of the Corsairs.
During the last 16 minutes they kept their opponents down to a mere two points and won 58-28.
Next for the boys is facing rivals Lake Orion for the District crown.
The game begins Friday night at 7 p.m. at Waterford Mott High School.

Cagers are on their way to the quarterfinals after a tight game against Pontiac Northern last night.
The boys varsity basketball team won, 42-35.
Now they prepare to face off with Flint Northern at Grand Blanc High School on Tuesday night.
The game begins at 7 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased at Clarkston High School in the main office, beginning Friday from 7 a.m.-3 p.m.
They will be sold until they are out.

The girls varsity softball team shut-out Davison in both their double header games. They defeated them 11-0 in the first game and then finished the second game in three innings, 16-0.
The girls head to Holly today for double-header games beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Girls lacrosse and soccer tied their games, lacrosse against Troy and soccer against North Farmington.
Lacrosse will head to Swartz Creek on Monday.
Kickers will host Royal Oak on Monday.
Both JV teams begin at 5:30 p.m. and varsity follows.
The boys varsity baseball team lost to Troy-Athens, 11-0 in six innings.
The boys host the Roy Warner Classic on Saturday. It begins at 10 a.m.
The girls varsity tennis team lost to West Bloomfield, 5-3.

The boys varsity golf won 171-189 over Bloomfield Hills Lahser and the girls varsity lacrosse beat Brighton, 9-8.

The Lady Wolves took down Troy Athens on Tuesday night.
The varsity volleyball team beat them in three set, 25-18, 25-22, 25-20.
Jenna had 28 digs and three aces and Alexis Egler had nine kills.
The girls compete in the Elite Sports Tournament this Saturday before taking on Lake Orion next Tuesday.

The Boys Varsity Hockey team melted the ice last night, scoring eight goals on Stoney Creek. They only allowed three to slip past them during the game. Next game is Saturday at Cranbrook’s Wallace Ice Arena, 3 p.m.

Tonight’s boys basketball game is Hoops for Haiti.
Fans can pledge for their favorite player, or just donate at the game.
For the pledge you can put down a monetary amount on each point the player scores. For example, if you pledge $1 per point on Matt Kamieniecki, and he gets 15 points in the game, you would pay $15. All proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross to support the relief effort for Haiti.

Icers scheduled to face off with Lake Orion for the third time this season.
The boys beat Grand Blanc last night in the first round of Pre-Regional playoffs, 4-2.
The win guaranteed them a spot to go against Lake Orion, who made it to the second round on a Bye.
The next round is tomorrow (Thursday) at 5:30 p.m. at Detroit Skate Club.

Wolves were successful Tuesday night as three continue onto the next district round.
Kickers shut out Milford, 5-0. They captured the lead in the first half scoring four goals.
They head into the next round againt Waterford Mott on Thursday at 5 p.m. The game is at Clarkston Junior High School.
Lady Hitters also had a shut out. They beat Holly, 15-0.
The boys varsity baseball team also beat Holly, 10-4.
Both games continue on Saturday at Milford at 10 a.m.

They beat OAA Red challenger Birmingham Seaholm, 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 29-27).

The Girls Cross Country team took second place in their first OAA Jamboree after scoring 56 points.
Troy finished first with 51 points.
Natalie Smith led the Lady Wolves at third place, 19:33. Andrea Butler took tenth, 20:24.

The Boys Cross Country team finished in third place in their first OAA Jamboree.
Lake Orion finished first with 43 points, Birmingham Seaholm, 50 points and Clarkston scored 78 points.
Adam Bruderick led the runners and finished in fifth, 16:59. Sam Tanielian also finished in the top ten, at eighth place, 17:08.

The Boys Varsity Tennis team lost to Lahser on Tuesday night, 6-0.
The boys head to Lake Orion on Thursday and begin at 4 p.m.

Clarkston controlled the game at Southfield. But the Bluejays held on tight and went for a 15-2 point run with less four minutes in the game.
The Wolves lost, 63-60.
