Health issues prompts Brandon AD’s retirement

Brandon Twp.- Tom Rodenbaugh is retiring as the Brandon High School athletic director due to medical reasons.
Brandon School Board members approved the hiring of Rodenbaugh in April 2006 as athletic director for both the high school and middle school, replacing Larry Lamphere, who resigned. Rodenbaugh also served as assistant principal at Brandon High School.
‘Unfortunately, his health has taken him away from the position,? said Board President Greg Allar. ‘We wish him a full recovery.?
The vacant position for assistant principal/athletic director has been posted on the Brandon School District website, http://www.brandon.k12.mi.us/jobpostings/AsstPrincHS-AD-8.html.
Interim Superintendent Lorrie McMahon said she hopes to have a new athletic director in place by September. The interim athletic director will be Jan Meagher, who is the retired principal of Clarkston High School and a former athletic director in Waterford. Allar said Rodenbaugh will help during the transitionary period, on a part-time basis.
