Local makes S.I. swimsuit edition

A Brandon High School graduate will soon join the ranks of women who have graced the pages of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit edition.
Chelsey Buhler, 20, will travel to New York on Sept. 23 to pose in a photo shoot for the famed publication, expected on newsstands in February.
The 2006 BHS graduate is a member of Automotion, the Detroit Pistons? dance team. Sports Illustrated will showcase dancers from 10 NBA teams in the 2009 swimsuit edition. One dancer from each team was chosen, and a scout selected Buhler from the Pistons.
‘I’m really excited, this is really different,? said Buhler. ‘I’ve been on Automotion for three years and was ready for something new and different.?
In addition to dancing for the Pistons, Buhler is a full-time student at Oakland University, studying communications with a concentration in broadcasting. She also works as a secretary for her father’s company, Breckers ABC Tool, and is also a dance teacher for a talent agency in Rochester. She expects this to be her last year with Automotion, since she wants to concentrate on school and getting a good internship.
Buhler is unsure whether she will be paid for her appearance in the magazine and doesn’t know yet what she will be wearing? Sports Illustrated is providing customized swimsuits, as they did last year for NFL cheerleaders.
