Clarkston Film Studio owner Norman Pardo, along with his wife, Jill, are looking at new ways to feature the Clarkston area through Clarkstontv.org.
“What we want to do is be the local spot for Clarkston for businesses to talk to the Clarkston people and for people to come in and have their own shows,? Norm said.
From news shows, to weather, to cooking shows, to talk shows, Norm wants it all. He said one of the talk shows they are planning is “One on one with Jill.?
“She is going to interview the business owners and find out what they’re doing, what they’re up to, new products they may have,? he said.
They have call-in numbers and switchboard so people can call the show and talk live on the air.
“The stuff we’re doing is really cutting edge for the internet. To have an actual show on the internet is one thing, but to have a talk
show on the internet is another thing,? he said.
“We want quality just like ABC, CBS, NBC, but on the internet.?
Jill would also to like to host local government officials on her talk show.
“I like to ask questions,? she said.
People interested in hosting their own show can rent the studio. Show prices range from $25 to $100.
“We’re not here to make a ton of money. We’re here to help Clarkston,? said Norm.
Also featured on the website is a live webcam shots of downtown Clarkston and Depot Park. When not airing Clarkston shows, users can watch old time movies on the website as well as cartoons all day on Saturday. Norm said he wants to start posting local pastors’ sermons all day on Sundays.
Clarkston Film Studio also does weddings, commercials, special events, music videos, video wills, demo tapes and a live radio show.
Norm spent years in the entertainment business down in Florida as a filmmaker and promoter. His most famous client is OJ Simpson.
“I promoted him for almost eight years and filmed a lot for a documentary,? said Norm.
However, he and Jill decided to ‘retire? from Florida and move to Michigan.
“Which is very reverse of what most people do,? he said with a laugh.
Jill was born and raised in Bloomfield Hills and her family had a cottage in Clarkston on Walters Lake.
“That’s what drew me to come back to Clarkston,? she said.
Though out of the ‘official? entertainment business, Norm is hoping to have some local celebrities, such as Kid Rock and possibly have Darius McCrary, who played Eddie Winslow on ‘Family Matters? and Haywood Nelson from ‘What’s Happening.?
