Doug and Debbie Martin, along with their daughter, Jennifer Martin-Granlund, are the new owners of Caribbean Sunset Tanning & Boutique, 950 S. Ortonville Road.
The Martins purchased the business, formerly The Beach House, on June 30. They also own Hometown Pool, Spa & Patio, next door.
‘We purchased the tanning salon to keep it in the community,? said Doug Martin. ‘It was being used and we want to make sure it stays here. Watch for an upcoming grand opening.?
Caribbean Sunset Tanning & Boutique has numerous tanning beds available, including three level one beds, three level two beds, a level three bed with bronzing bulbs, and a level four bed. Kathi Luis is the manager and resident nail technician at Caribbean Sunset, and Holly Litwin offers massage therapy. Both are accepting appointments.
The Martins are also offering an expanded line of products, including Bandals, flip flops with interchangeable bands, as well as purses, t-shirts, sunglasses, sarongs, a wide variety of snacks and beverages, and new tanning lotions. Coming soon are Panama Jack items, jewelry, and handmade lotions and soaps. The boutique is also partnering with essential bodywear, llc to offer special lingerie events.
Caribbean Sunset Tanning & Boutique also has plans to improve and update the tanning beds and staff are being certified in Smart Tan. As a Smart Tan facility, Caribbean Sunset Tanning follows specific principles and procedures in the responsible administration of ultraviolet light for cosmetic purposes. Adherence to proper cleaning and sanitation protocol is maintained and regulations are emphasized.
