Clarkston track teams tried to keep one jump ahead of Rochester during their OAA match-up.
Both girls and boys teams ended the meet with losses. The girls, 86-42 and the boys 70.5-57.5.
“Our younger girls are starting to improve a lot,? said Coach John Yorke. ‘We had some really good performances from our throwers and the distance girls are improving.?
The girls took the top three places in the 100 meter high hurdles. Taylor Wright led while Gabrielle Kreft and Maisey Peterson took second and third.
Erin Billette took second in the 1600 meter run, finishing 5:50.6.
Danielle Blyth took second in the 400 meter dash, time of 1:03.4.
Kreft second place in the 300 meter low hurdles.
Kaitlyn Catania took first in the 3200 meter run, finishing 13:21.5. Kayle Sherwood shrew the shot put 33’ and 3/4? for first place.
Kat Gawrouski threw the discus 74?2″ for first place and Sherwood, 72?9″ for second.
Alex King took second in the high jump with 4?10? and Anna Manilla placed third, 4?8.?
Wright took first in the high jump, 7?6.?
For the boys, Joey Goss tied for second in the 100 meter dash, 11.65. Mike Inch took third place in the 1600 meter run, 4:55.7.
The boys secured two spots in the 400 meter dash, Chris Canada in first, 53.4, and Rawley Hallman in third, 54.0. Travis Smith finished in 42.9 in the 300 meter low hurdles to take first.
The Wolves took three spots in the 800 meter dash. Adam Bruderick led, finishing 2:03.7, followed by Spenser Pawlik and Michael McCord. Jesse Blaske threw his shot put into second place, 39?6.?
Dann Lemerand finished in third in the discus throw, 110?1.? Brian Benway took first in the long jump, 19?2,? and Chris Scott took second.
Jordan Garrison jumped 5?8″ in the high jump for second place and Benway tied for third.
Jacob Shutty had a distance of 9?6” in the shot put. Both teams traveled to Troy on Tuesday.
The girls head to the Molly Brannan Relays hosted by Waterford Mott on Friday. The event is at Walled Lake Northern.
“If they keep improving by regionals we can put together a good team,? said Yorke.
The boys head to the Ashley Relays hosted by Waterford Mott on Saturday.
