Rolle, Wolanin, Stuk and Howell win all-state honors

Oxford’s first-year track Coach Jeff Zoli took nine girls and six boys to the state Division 1 track championships held at Rockford Saturday.
Four of the Wildcats picked up all-state honors while Zoli said everyone performed well and underclassmen gained valuable experience heading into next years? challenge of competing in the Oakland Activities Association.
Senior speedster Chris Rolle, who was the Flint Metro League and Oakland County champion in the 100 and 200 meter dashes, finished third in the state in the 100 meters.
Senior Kate Wolanin finished sixth in the high jump.
Junior Aaron Stuk was fifth in the 110-meter hurdles and Oxford freshman Jessica Howell was seventh in the long jump.
Zoli said the nine girls and six boys who went to the finals showed how strong the Oxford track teams were this season. Last year four girls went to the finals.
The lady Wildcats were undefeated in the FML this season. ‘All eleven who went this year did very well,? Zoli said. ‘We had a very good season and we will face new challenges next year in the OAA.?
