Eastern Michigan University junior women’s golfer Darby Peters, a 2007 Lake Orion High School graduate, was recently named Academic All-Mid-American Conference.
Peters, who played a significant role in the LOHS Girls’ Golf 2007 state championship, was also named first team All-MAC team at the MAC Championships earlier this year.
The Academic All-MAC honor is awarded to student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. Peters, who boasts a 3.45 GPA in business at EMU, averaged 76.2 strokes per round, good for seventh best in the conference,. She finished with the sixth-lowest single-season average in EMU history.
