Local to compete for Miss Michigan Teen USA

Amanda Reo, 16, will compete as Miss Ortonville in her quest to win the title of Miss Michigan Teen USA 2012 during the competition set for Sept. 30-Oct. 1 in Port Huron.
This is the Brandon High School junior’s first pageant. Reo is active in sports, competing in cross country, basketball and track, and also shows animals through 4-H. She chose to enter the Miss Michigan Teen USA pageant to try something different.
More than 100 young women will compete in the 2012 Miss Michigan Teen USA pageant, which offers contestants an opportunity to advance their personal and professional goals. The Miss Michigan Teen USA and Miss Michigan USA pageants offer more than one million dollars in college scholarships to winners, finalists and semi-finalists. The teen competition features three proportional segments: evening gown, fitness/swimsuit and a final question. Besides college scholarships, the winner takes away prizes including travel and wardrobe and will represent the state of Michigan in the Miss Teen USA pageant scheduled for the summer of 2012.
