Brandon Twp.- Kim Kulaga was unanimously approved for appointment as a school board trustee to complete a term ending Dec. 31, 2013.
The board voted 6-0 to appoint Kulaga to fill the seat vacated by Rob Privette after he moved from the district. She was the sole candidate interviewed by the board.
‘I am very excited,? said Kulaga of her appointment. ‘I want to thank the board for giving me the opportunity to serve and I am looking forward to an eventful year. I hope to see increased community participation in the school district and I look forward to addressing budget issues and finding resolutions for some of our concerns.?
Kulaga, a 1993 Brandon High School graduate, moved to Groveland Township and back into the district, three years ago with a desire to raise her two children here. She is the mother of Nick, 6, and Sophie, 5.
Kulaga is employed as an e-learning specialist at Chrysler in Auburn Hills. For the past 12 years, she has worked in adult education and training in the corporate world, working for companies including Blue Cross, Ford, and General Motors, and has offered independent consulting for the healthcare industry. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Adrian College.
‘I’m glad she will be joining us,? said Superintendent Lorrie McMahon. ‘She will be an asset and I think she will work hard. Her intent is to make Brandon the best district we can be for the sake of our students.?
