Grapplers place second in tourney

The Oxford Wildcat grapplers traveled to Westland over the past weekend for the John Glenn Duals tournament.
The boys wrestled to second place after beating four of the five teams they squared off against.
The battling Wildcats suffered their only loss to Hartland 36-24, but went on to beat New Lothrop 36-27, Westland-John Glenn 40-26, Monroe 50-10 and Walled Lake Western 76- 0.
Alex Hrisopoulos, 103 pounds, Edwin Schlickenmeyer, 135/140, pounds, Mike Willitts, 145 pounds, Rocco Borg, 152 pounds, all went undefeated in five matches.
Wesley Maskill, 160 pounds, 4-0, Zach Wood, 285 pounds, 4-1 Marty Giannola, 171 pounds went 3-1. Collin Campbell, 112 pounds, Daniel Curtis, 119 pounds, and Ben Line, 215 pounds all went 3-2, Liam Logan, 171/189 pounds, went 2-1, Bailey Kammerer, 125 pounds, 2-3, John Hassenzahl, 130 pounds, and Adam Schlicht, 135/140 pounds both went 1-4, Grant Krause, 189 pounds, 1-2, and Wyatt Hardin, 160 pounds, 0-1.
The Wildcats host Harrison and Lake Orion at home on Wed. Jan. 16 starting at 5:30 p.m.
They will travel to Almont on Sat. Jan. 19 to face Almont and Holt.
