SADD, McDonald’s team up for event

The Oxford McDonald’s (655 N. Lapeer Rd.) will host its annual McSADD night on Tuesday, May 13 from 5-7 p.m.
The event is designed to raise funds and awareness for the Oxford High School chapter of Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD).
There will be balloons, games and face-painting. Family fun for everyone.

? A woman loving in the 60 block of East Street called village police after an intoxicated family member was attempting to the car and leave.
Wednesday, April 30
? Sheriff’s deputies met with Homeland Security agents and were advised that they had an arrest warrant for a man they believed to be residing in the 700 block of Inverness. Homeland wanted to make contact with the subject and interview him. The special agents interviewed the man and took him into custody without incident.
? A woman living in the 70 block of Pearl Street called about her son who was a runaway and last seen on his skateboard, even though the son returned home, the woman still requested to see an officer because she wanted to take them to the wood and show them where her son hides his marijuana.
Friday, May 2
? A man who owns a building in the 90 block of Glaspie Street, requested to see a village police officer after a dog went after one of his employees. The man said the dog belongs to a tenant.
Saturday, May 3
? A driver was caught speeding at North Washington and Market Street where he was going 45 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone. When questioned by village officers, the man said he was daydreaming and knew he was speeding.
? Village police stopped a driver Mechanic and S. Washington Street. According to the report the driver stopped at light in left turn lane facing eastbound on Burdick and entered the intersection after the light was well red. The driver also had no insurance certificate and when he stopped he missed the road at Mechanic Street and jumped the curb.
Sunday, May 4
? Village police were called for a possible domestic where a man and woman were arguing loudly in the 11 block of Maple.
? A woman went to the Village Police Station to speak to an officer about her father who went missing Thursday evening, but then returned home.
Monday, May 5
? A driver called village police after witnessing a possible road rage incident. According to the report at stop light on N. Park Street the caller observed a woman get out of her vehicle and man got out of his and the two were arguing. The caller watched the man grab the woman by the throat. They got back in their vehicles and pulled into the sprint store.
? A woman living in the 400 block of Thornehill Trail called village police because she was having trouble with her husband who was recently released from the hospital with a mental disorder. According to the woman she took a gun away from him and he was downstairs getting another. Prior to officer arrival she state took the other gun away. Officers spoke with the man who said they were having family trouble about cigarettes.
