Schwarz finalist for Avondale supt. job

Oxford Schools Chief Academic Officer Dr. James Schwarz is in the running to become the new superintendent of the Avondale school district.
Schwarz, who was the principal of Clear Lake Elementary prior to joining Oxford’s central administration, is one of two finalists for the job.
He told this reporter his goal has always been to become a superintendent and being a finalist for the Avondale position is ‘a great opportunity.?
Schwarz views landing a superintendent job as the ‘next step in my career.?
But he’s not about to count his chickens before they’re hatched.
‘We’ll see what happens,? Schwarz said.
The Avondale Board of Education began interviewing for the position in August. Back then, there were five candidates in the pool.
‘The final decision should be made in the next week or two,? said Julie Kelly, administrative assistant to Avondale’s superintendent.
Avondale’s previous superintendent, Dr. George Heitsch, left to become the new superintendent in Farmington.
