Lady Cats looking to improve

While the Lady Wildcats have gotten off to a little bit of a rocky 1-2 start this season, Head Coach Steve Emert believes his team will improve.
‘Our expectation is to go into each practice and game, and give total effort, so that we individually improve and the team improves,? he said.
Leading the way will be four returning senior starters led by Jessica Murphy who has signed with Wayne State University and Cherilyn Banas who has dined with Lawrence Tech. Junior starters are Christina Medici and Skye Donaldson. Additional returnees are senior Jaynee Butkiewicz , juniors Abby Butkiewicz, Grace Wysocki and Logan Medel.
Emert also welcomed five new members to the varsity squad this year.
‘They are working’extremely (hard) to make themselves (an) exceptional asset to the varsity,? he added. ‘They are being led by Madelyn Morris.?
The strength of the team will be on both sides of the ball, defensively and offensively, noted Emert.
‘We will be stronger because of a year of maturity,? he said.
However, their weakness is a need to develop their depth chart.
‘The league will be a tight race with a number of teams available to win it,? Emert said. ‘Naturally, our goals include league title, district and regional title.?
The girls? next game will be Friday at home, against Almont. The game will begin at 7 p.m.
