Adrenaline Rush, yeah, that’s the ticket!

You know how it is sometimes. You have time to think and your mind will take you on a wonderful odyssey — ones full of excitement, danger and sometimes even love (which is fraught with so much peril that it is the Number One subject of nearly all books ever published!)
Since the end of winter, or maybe the beginning of spring, the thought of siring another child has danced in my imagination. And, it’s not that I am working in that direction, mind you. It’s just a fanciful daydream. One of the side ponderances from this particular fancy’s journey is, ‘What would be a good name for said offspring??
What is the meaning of a good name? Would sticking with the solid, tried and true names like James and John be a wise decision, or maybe something different?
I hopped on-line and looked into the meaning of my name, just for fun and to further spark my curiosity. Interestingly, I found two different meanings for the name Donald. From BehindTheName.com, this:
?(Donald is) from the Gaelic name Domhnall, which means ‘ruler of the world,? composed of the old Celtic elements dumno ‘world? and val ‘rule.? This was the name of two 9th-century kings of the Scots and Picts.?
And, from SheKnows.com, ‘The name Donald is a Celtic baby name. In Celtic, the meaning of the name Donald is: Dark stranger.?
When I was a younger lad, full of bravado and ego, I woulda liked the Ruler of The World definition. Today, as an international man of mystery, I’m kinda digging Dark Stranger.

What about Rush? What does the surname Rush mean? According to Ancestry.com, the Irish Rush meaning is, ‘reduced Anglicized form of Gaelic ? Ruis ‘descendant of Ros?, a personal name perhaps derived from ros ‘wood?. In Connacht, it has also been used as a translation of ? Luachra (see Loughrey). Irish: Anglicized form (translation) of Gaelic ? Fuada, ‘descendant of Fuada? a personal name meaning ‘hasty.?
Does this mean your hero and spiritual guru Donald Rush is really the Hasty Dark Stranger? Does my name suggest I jump into things too quickly, based on emotion rather than common sense or reason?
I will let you make that particular call.

So, what should a new Rush child be named, something traditional or something with meaning, fun or filled with destiny?
I went on-line and started fiddling around. I discovered the title of a 2007 Robin Williams movie, ‘August Rush.? Possible, and I believe it is a movie most folks will like. I certanily did.
For fun, I typed in my search engine, ‘Bum’s Rush.? From the UrbanDicitionary.com, ‘The act of a bar bouncer, security guard, or some authority figure forcibly removing a person (the ‘bum?) from a location by twisting said person’s arm behind his back and pushing the forearm skyward while rapidly pushing (rushing) the body toward an exit.?
I don’t think it’s a good name for a kid.

The name in my head since February or March is this, Adrenaline Rush. Doesn’t sound cool?! I think it is gender neutral and as a nickname, that child could be called Dren. (Which, for anybody who is up on the Happy Days TV trivia, is what Joanie called Potsie — because in her mind Potsie was the opposite of Nerd. Spelled backwards it is Dren.)
Still searching on-line I discovered Adrenaline Rush is the name of a ‘Melodic? rock band from Stockholm. And, I have no idea what a ‘melodic? rock band is . . . they all have long hair. Here is a link to a YouTube video of them https://www.youtube.com/watch’v=AnMPo1zATlE
Adrenaline Rush is also a ‘high voltage, nonstop, energy-packed obstacle race, where everyone can experience new levels of chafing, sweatiness and soggy sock syndrome . . .? in the United Kingdom.
From FitDay.com, ‘An Adrenaline Rush is an extremely intense feeling? caused by hormones working overtime. I like it! Here are some symptoms of Adrenaline Rush, the website states:
1. Noticeable Increase in Your Strength;
2. No Feelings of Pain;
3. Heightened Senses;
4. Sudden Boost of Energy, and;
5. Increased Breathing.

I don’t know. The more I think of it, I like the name Adrenaline Rush. I think I need to have another kid, or maybe I should just change my name from the Hasty Dark Stranger to the high-voltage moniker.
