Medici signs with Northwood

Oxford High School senior Christina Medici has been playing soccer since the age of 6. On Feb. 3, she signed on the dotted line to continue playing for Northwood University next year.
‘I’m excited and can’t wait to continue my soccer career at Northwood,? Medici said, noting that she’s already participated soccer camps at Northwood.
‘I just really like the campus. The coach and the team, they’re all very welcoming,? she said. ‘That’s how I made my ultimate decision.?
Medici plans to study marketing and management.
Her personal trainer, Kirk Bradshaw, said she’s put in a lot of hard work and shown great consistency.
‘Week in and week out, in season and off season ? it’s all added up for her,? Bradshaw said.
Oxford Head Coach Robert Euashka described Medici as a ‘fantastic athlete and great defender.?
‘I’ve been fortunate to have her the past two years and in her third and final year. She’s been an every-minute player as a starter, so to have her go to Northwood University, where her sister (Samantha) goes, is a great honor,? he said. ‘Getting to coach a kid at that level that can play and perform and can lead, that’s why you (get involved in) high school soccer. It certainly isn’t for the money and it certainly isn’t for the time. It’s for athletes, like Chris Medici, that you do it. It’s just great to be here with her today.?
