The urge to play soccer in the middle of the night must be a very powerful one.
Two Oxford brothers were caught by Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies allegedly playing on the Oxford High School football field at approximately 1 a.m. on July 6.
The deputies were on routine patrol when they noticed the football field’s lights were on.
When they investigated, they found the brothers, ages 13 and 15, allegedly using the famous blue turf for a private match.
According to the sheriff’s report, the brothers rode their bicycles to the school and the 15-year-old admitted to opening one of the press box’s windows, climbing in and turning on the field lights.
Both of the press box’s doors were still locked and nothing appeared to have been damaged, the report stated.
The 15-year-old brother showed deputies how he entered, then shut the lights off.
The boys were driven home by deputies and turned over to their mother, who had been camping at Addison Oaks County Park during the incident.
According to her, the boys were supposed to be in by 8:30 p.m., so it appears their little game was also a curfew violation.
Still no word on what the final score was.
