Nine Oxford Middle School students performed at the District Eight Michigan State Band & Orchestra Association’s Solo & Ensemble festival held at North Branch High School December 3, each taking home a score of “good” or “superior.”
“The students put in a great deal of effort to prepare and refine their music,” said OMS Director of Orchestras James Berezney “I believe their diligence and passion for music inspires everyone who interacts with them including their private teachers, school teachers and peers.”
The following students received a “superior” rating of one: Ivy Joul, cello solo; Esme Roda, cello solo; Sophia Shampine, cello solo; Natalie Nichols, violin solo; Joul, Nichols, Connor Valley and LeeAnn Johnson, string quartet performance; Roda and Shampine, cello duet.
The following students received a “good” rating of two: Seth Palmer, cello solo; Melodie Mitchell and Madelyne Perry, violin duet.
