The Oxford Wildcat bowling teams dominated the lanes during a home matchup against Hazel Park Dec. 22.
Although the varsity bowling team struggled early on, the team found its footing and finished strong with a 26-4 victory.
After a season high 233 baker game victory for the Wildcats, the Vikings struck back with a 197 to 194 win in baker game two. But those were the last points that Hazel Park would score that night.
All five Oxford bowlers won their matches in the first head-up game. Will Fallon, who scored 188, and Christian Cartner, who scored 207, led the way.
In the second game, the Wildcat’s greatest contributors were Fallon, who scored 235, Michael Saroli, who scored 219, Tanner Cartner, who scored 203, and Christian Cartner, with a score of 200.
“I think the team was thinking about the Christmas break early, but found their focus later on,” said Head Coach J.R. Lafnear.
The Lady Wildcat Bowling team had an equally successful night, scoring a 28-2 victory against the Hazel Park Vikings.
Megan Kessler kept her impressive season going, scoring games of 214 and 208. Megan Armbruster chimed in with games of 191 and 196. Claire Sandstrom chipped in with a solid game of 190. “The girls did what was expected tonight. Nobody had a great night, but everyone was solid,” Lafnear said.
Both teams are now 4-0 overall and first place in the Oakland Activities Association (OAA) Red Division.
