Brandon soccer squad looks to get back on track

It was a night Brandon boys soccer coach Nathan Hunter and the Blackhawks would rather forget.
Brandon was shut out Sept. 29 by host Lapeer East 5-0, as the Blackhawks fell to 4-7-2 overall and 2-4-1 in Flint Metro League play.
“It was basically a nightmare,” Hunter said of the team’s performance. “Our kids went out without much concentration or focus. It was a really strange and difficult night for us. We have to put that game out of our minds and play the way we did against Stoney Creek (Sept. 25).”
In the aforementioned game, the Blackhawks played visiting Stoney Creek tough but dropped a 3-2 decision.
Chris Hunter and Ben Reed scored goals for the Blackhawks, but Stoney Creek scored with about six minutes left to win the game.
Brandon returns to action Oct. 6 when they host Oxford at 7 p.m.
