April 8: An Oxford resident, living in the 20 block of W. Burdick St., called village police at 5:28 a.m. to report damage to their vehicle. The caller stated that they had not driven their vehicle since several days prior to the call, but that they had come out to discover their windshield had been smashed sometime since that date. A report was filed.

April 6: Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were called by the manager of a bank located in the 900 block of N. Lapeer Rd. at 6:34 p.m. in response to a disgruntled customer. The customer, a 61-year-old man from Oxford, allegedly came to the branch to open an account and became belligerent when he was asked several security questions. The man was asked to leave by the manager and, in response, allegedly told the manager “You don’t know who you’re messing with. You don’t want to do this” and began swearing at them. In a later interview, the man allegedly told sheriff’s deputies that everyone has bad days and that it had not been his intention for the manager to have taken his words negatively. He also allegedly described himself as “old school” and said he expects people to know how to do their jobs. He was advised not to return to the bank.

April 6: The manager of a business located in the 1200 block of S. Lapeer Rd. called Sheriff’s deputies at 9:53 a.m., after he had observed a damaged window on the back door of the store and had found the door to be unlocked. The manager told Sheriff’s deputies that all other doors appeared to have remained locked and that nothing appeared to be missing from the store. Surveillance footage appeared to show a husky male, approximately 6 feet tall, who was wearing blue jeans and a dark hoodie, break open the window at 2:52 that morning. The report noted the suspect appeared to be carrying an unknown item with him before fleeing the scene one minute later. A report was filed.

April 5: A 26-year-old resident called Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies at 3:09 p.m. to report that he found his commercial grade work equipment was missing from a storage unit located in the 2000 block of N. Lapeer Rd. The cost of the missing equipment was said to have totaled to nearly $5,500. The incident was believed to have occurred between April 3 at 9 p.m. and April 5 at 1:30 p.m.

April 4: Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were driving through a parking lot at 1:20 p.m., located in the 700 block of N. Oxford Rd. when they observed a white SUV parked in the lot. The vehicle appeared to be occupied by a person in the front passenger seat who was sleeping and wearing a red hoodie over their head. Sheriff’s deputies also observed a white male, approx. 18 years old, seated in the back. When Sheriff’s deputies went to the back of the vehicle to get the plate number, the man in the back seat allegedly exited the SUV and fled on foot, despite being commanded to stop. As sheriff’s deputies attempted to chase the man, he disappeared into a cloud of fog. The sheriff’s deputies returned to the parking lot and found the SUV was gone.
