Anne Lisa Woodring, known to her friends as Lisa, passed away on April 9, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was 86 years old and a resident of Addison Township, who lived on Lakeville Lake.
Lisa was born on December 26, 1930 in Flint, Michigan to Carl and Ingeborg Brinch.
This loving wife, mother and grandmother is survived by her husband, Paul, of 65 years; daughters Sue (Greg Smith) Weatherhead, Sandy (Marty) Blake, and Judy Landuyt; grandchildren Blake and Spencer Weatherhead, Andrea Eric, and Bobby Blake, Jake and Alex Landuyt; her sister Barbara (the late Neil) Woodring; brother Kenneth (Jan) Brinch. Predeceased by her siblings Jorgen, Corliss and Vivian.
Lisa graduated from Flint Central High School in 1949, received a Bachelors degree from the University of Michigan while raising her family, and a Masters Degree from Oakland University.
She enjoyed children and education, and is remembered fondly by her students in the Grand Blanc and Utica Community schools.
Lisa lived a life of kindness and generosity, attending her grandchildren’s school events and sporting activities, volunteering at Leader Dogs for the Blind, where she adopted her dog, Rev, and feeding the many varieties of birds that visited her lake house.
She was proud of her Danish heritage and proud to be an American. Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, 339 Walnut Blvd., Rochester.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 3-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment Van Hoosen Jones Cemetery.
