May 1: Oxford Village Police allegedly found a man unconscious in a running vehicle located in the 400 block of S. Glaspie St. at 2:38 a.m. When police knocked on the window and the man did not respond, they opened the door and allegedly shook the man awake. It was noted in the report that the man smelled of intoxicants and had bloodshot eyes. The man was found to have had previous convictions for operating while intoxicated and had his license revoked since 2003. The man allegedly told police he had been driving back home from Pontiac when he realized he was too drunk and pulled into the parking lot to sleep. The man allegedly became increasingly uncooperative but ultimately took a preliminary breath test, which showed a .17 reading. Police noted in the report that several empty beer cans were found in the backseat of the car during a search. The man was transported McLaren Oakland for a blood draw test and was then transported to Oakland County Jail without incident.
April 29: Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were called at 11:49 p.m. after a 39-year-old Owasso woman, who was staying in the 2000 block of W. Oakwood Rd., allegedly fell backwards and hit her head on a dining room table. According to her 38-year-old husband and his 28-year-old brother, the woman had fallen backwards after she had hugged her 16-year-old daughter and lost her footing afterwards. Alcohol is suspected by Sheriff’s deputies to be a factor. The woman suffered a concussion and was transported to Crittenton.
April 26: The manager of a business located in the 600 block of S. Lapeer Rd. called Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies when he had allegedly found a side door unlocked upon his arrival. The manager said he found two employee paychecks missing upon further investigation. Money in a nearby register was allegedly found to be untouched. The incident was believed to have occurred between April 25 at 8:30 p.m. and April 26 at 7 a.m.
April 17: Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a construction site in the 40 block of Grampion Dr. at 9:02 p.m., where a 22-year-old worker stated he had allegedly found several items missing from a utility trailer. The man found the front door ajar upon his arrival. Sheriff’s deputies observed that the two locks on the door had been broken. The man told Sheriff’s deputies that he found several nail guns missing, along with other items. The incident is believed to have occurred between April 14 at 5:30 p.m. and April 17 at 8:30 a.m.
