Evelyn Joan Eddy, of Lakeview, passed away July 8, 2017. She was 94.
She was born November 9, 1922 in Pontiac. The daughter of Harvey Allen and Hazel Marie (Fritch) Nique, Evelyn was raised in Oxford and attended Oxford Public School. She went on to go to cosmetology school.
Evelyn used her education to become a beautician.
She was also a restaurant manager, and helped our U.S. military during WWII at a ford plant building airplane. With previous experience helping the U.S. military, she found herself helping again during the Korean War by driving Army trucks from a General Motors plant to the east coast. Evelyn had many hobbies including crafts, crochet, knitting, scrapbook, ceramics, porcelain, couponing, word puzzles and spending time with her family.
Evelyn will be deeply missed by her son Gary Keith (Karen) Beasinger, of Lakeview; daughter-in-law Sandy Beasinger, of Prudenville; grandchildren Valerie Wresell, Lisa Beasinger, Bethany Green, Beth Grover and Keith Beasinger; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Allen and Hazel Marie (Fritch) Nique; son Robert Allen Beasinger; sister Joyce Marie (Earl) Spring; and nephew Earl “Donald” Spring.
Funeral services for Evelyn will be Saturday, July 15 at 12 p.m. at the Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, Michigan with a visitation the same day from 10 a.m. leading up to the service time. Reverend Chris Kaufield will be officiating the service. Those wishing to make a contribution in Evelyn’s memory are asked to consider the Wounded Warrior Project.
