Addison Township Hall will continue to keep its lawn healthy and vibrant, thanks to a donation from Kent’s Lawn Care, LLC., in Leonard.

Owner and longtime Addison Township resident, Kent Phillips, donated the parts and installation of a new sprinkler system for the township’s lawn.

The project, valued at around $2,600, will be completed this week by Phillips and his crew.

According to Phillips, who befriended Pearson many years ago while serving as Addison ordinance officer, said he is happy to step up and lend a hand to his community.

“We’re just trying to make the township look a little greener,” he said.

Phillips said the new system includes the installation of around 13 sprinkler heads, along with underground piping. The system also utilizes rain sensor technology that prevents the sprinklers from turning on while it’s raining.

The sprinkler system will also support the future planting of shrubs and flowers outside the township hall, according to Supervisor Bruce Pearson. “(We want to) add a little more color around the building… but you’ve got to have water all the time for those projects. We didn’t want to put hoses out over the sidewalks, which could trip residents, and Kent offered to do this for us,” said Pearson.

“(He) is another one of our citizens in Addison Township who is always benevolent and always tries to give back to our community.”
