A new residential development to be located in the southwest corner of Oxford Township got the green light to proceed last week.

Township officials voted 6-1 to grant final site plan approval for Savannah Ridge Estates, a single-family site condominium project consisting of 30 detached units.

The Sterling Heights-based Clearview Homes will be constructing the development on a 41-acre site located on the north side of Stanton Rd., just east of Baldwin Rd.

Lots will range in size from 1.01 acres to 1.75 acres. The units line a private cul-de-sac to be named White Pine Way. The plan shows 15 units each on the east and west sides of the street.

Instead of constructing an 8-foot-wide safety path along the north side of Stanton Rd., the township board voted 7-0 to allow Clearview Homes to pay $68,525 into the municipality’s safety path fund.
