Harry William “Bill” Somerville Jr., of Oxford, passed away on Oct. 6, 2017. He was 74.

He is survived by his sister Carol (Frank) Sandor and his children Jerry (Sherri) Robertson, Cheryl (Melvin) Granderson, Kimberly (David) Carroll and William (Mary) Somerville. Also his grandchildren Katlin, Nicole, Renae, Sarah, Randy, Erica, Hannah and Maxwell.

He also has 13 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.

Bill was preceded in death by his father and mother Harry and Lillian Somerville as well as his sister Janet Smith.

Bill loved bowling and golfing. He has bowled two 300 games and hit two hole in ones. If he wasn’t playing sports he was watching them.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1964-68.

He fought a long battle against cancer. He can now rest easy. He will be missed by family and many friends.

Visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford, on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 12-4 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bob Holt officiating.
