Swim team clips Ravens’ wings

The Wildcats boys varsity swim team secured its second win of the season on Dec. 12, sweeping the 12 events at a meet with the Royal Oak Ravens

Oxford won 134-49 and is now 2-0 overall.

The results were as follows:

In the 200 Medley Relay, Oxford’s A Relay of JJ Bagans, Michael Scepka, Garrett Warren, and Zach Beatty took first with a time of 1:47.63. Oxford’s B Relay of Olheiser, Peter Bagans, Nolan May, and Ben Datsko finished in third.

In the 200 Freestyle, Cole Bukoski came in first with a time of 2:01.29. Alex Olheiser and Ethan LaRock took second and fourth respectively.

In the 200 Individual Medley, senior Captain Garrett Warren touched first with a time of 2:10.20. Beatty and Datsko came in second and fifth respectively. Datsko’s time puts him 10th on the All-Time Top Ten List.

In the 50 Freestyle, Carter Pollard finished first with a time of 24.31. JJ Bagans and Tommy Giberson rounded out the top three spots.

In the diving portion of the meet, senior Captain Mitchell Mulligan came in first with a personal-best score of 239.60.

In the100 Butterfly, Warren claimed his second win of the night with a time of 56.50. May and Pollard touched third and fourth respectively.

In the100 Freestyle, Beatty took first with a time of 53.30. Scepka and Peter Bagans came in second and fourth respectively.

In the 500 Freestyle, Bukoski finished first for the second time with a 5:33.04, which moves him up to sixth on the All-Time Top Ten List.

In the 200 Freestyle Relay, Oxford’s A Relay of Scepka, Peter Bagans, Pollard, and Mumbrue touched first with a time of 1:45.00. Oxford’s B Relay of Datsko, Giberson, Palmrose, and Arnold finished in third.

In the 100 Backstroke, JJ Bagans came in first with a time of 1:01.39, which puts him sixth on the All-Time Top Ten List. May came in third with a time that puts him 10th on the All-Time Top Ten List and Olheiser touched fourth.

In the 100 Breaststroke, Peter Bagans took first with a time of 1:09.25. Scepka and Datsko rounded out the top three spots. Datsko’s time puts him eighth on the All-Time Top Ten List.

In the 400 Freestyle Relay, Oxford’s A Relay of Bukoski, Warren, Beatty, and JJ Bagans finished first with a time of 3:41.39. Oxford’s B Relay of Zach Allion, LaRock, Olheiser, and May claimed the second place points.

Oxford hosts fellow Oxford Activities Association (OAA) White Division Clarkston on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 6 p.m.
