Ella June Walton Clark, formerly of Oxford and Metamora, passed away April 1, 2018 at Villages of Lapeer Nursing Home (Ferguson Convalescent Home). Ella June was born June 10, 1921 to Sylvia and William Laidlaw. She was married to Wayne H. Walton for 35 years until his passing. Ella June was later married for 29 years to Duane J. Clark, until his passing.
In her earlier years, Ella June worked as a bookkeeper. For most of her life she was a farmer’s wife and was a great cook and enjoyed gardening. She made wonderful pies, was famous for her “Pancake Cookies,” and canned most of her vegetables. Ella June loved to play cards, especially Euchre and 500. She belonged to Friendship Circle 500 Card Club, as well as the Farmer’s Club. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her husbands, Ella June was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Donna (Duane) Clark, Doris (Ira) Bates, Wilber Laidlaw, Edna May (Richard) Caddotte, Reva (Jack) Brown, and Gerald “Bud” (Joan) Laidlaw. She is survived by her two sons, Richard (Susan) Walton, and Glenn (Cheryl) Walton; sister-in-law Bea Laidlaw; grandson Kyle (Crystal) Walton; granddaughter Ashley (Taylor) Robertson; great-grandchildren Brooke, Kylie, and Kody Walton, and Leah and Ethan Robertson. She will be greatly missed by her family, step-family, and friends.
Funeral service Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 11 am, from Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors 39 W. Burdick, Oxford. Cliff Kvanvig officiating. Visitation Tuesday, April 3 from 2-8 pm. Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Oxford.
