Margaret Hayes Ballantyne Von Steeg passed away suddenly on April 18, 2018 in Seattle, Washington. She was 79.

Margaret was with her children Jamie and Lesley.

Originally from Detroit, born in 1938 to parents James & Dorothy Ballantyne.

Margaret spent most of her years in Oxford, enjoying family, friends, neighbors and the beautiful sights of the water around her. She spent much of her time volunteering at various organizations in and around Oxford.

Margaret held a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Wayne State University and a master’s degree in Humanities from Central Michigan University.

Most recently Margaret relocated to Seattle, WA in the summer of 2017 to be closer to her children on the west coast.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Eugene.

She is survived by her loving children; daughter and son-in-law, Lesley and Mark Larson of Seattle, WA; her son James of Sacramento, CA; and her four grandchildren, Addison & Camden Von Steeg and Berit & Foster Larson. She is already sorely missed.

A private family celebration will be held in Seattle, WA.
