Science Alive, a hands-on educational organization based in Waterford, visited Daniel Axford Elementary on Feb. 7.

William Neill, a biologist and herpetoculturist who co-founded Science Alive in 1992, brought a variety of live animals to the school, including a two-fingered sloth, Burmese python, armadillo, giant frog and chinchilla.

Students learned about the animals, then got to touch and hold them.
