It’s not often a guy gets to return to his hometown to show everybody the movie he helped make.
On Sunday, Aug. 4, Zach Throne, a 2012 graduate of Oxford High School, will be doing just that.
There will be a special showing of “Cadia: The World Within” at the OHS Performing Arts Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased for $10 at eventbrite.com or at the door.
It’s the first feature film released by the Columbus, Ohio-based Just a Skosh Productions (JASP), the co-founder of which is Throne. He serves as JASP’s financial director and is co-executive producer of the film.
“Cadia: The World Within” tells the story of three 14-year-old siblings – Matthew, David and Renee Addams – who get transported to the mystical realm of Cadia after losing their mother. There, they get caught up in the battle between good and evil.
The film is a coming-of-age story that explores the concepts of grace, love and doubt. It examines how people interact with the world around them and the need for folks to believe in each other.
Veteran actor Corbin Bernsen, who starred on “L.A. Law” and “Psych,” and James Phelps, of Harry Potter fame, are part of the cast.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early at the Aug. 4 showing.
There will be a red carpet event leading up to the showing and a question-and-answer session afterward.
