The Oxford Public Library is pleased to announce that beginning Sept. 8, Sunday hours will be restored from 1 to 5 p.m. after a five-year suspension due to funding.
“Staffing levels will be limited at first as we work through the logistics, so please be patient with us,” wrote Director Bryan Cloutier in the library’s fall newsletter. “In order to make the transition more successful, we are encouraging library guests to use the self-checkout machines as much as possible on Sundays. This being said, our full range of library services available Monday through Saturday will also be available on Sundays.”
Sunday hours will operate from September to May, during the school year.
Special Sunday events are being planned including monthly Family Movie Afternoons and Gardenside Music Concerts.
Coming in September:
Sunday, Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. Family Movie: Dumbo, directed by Tim Burton. Stop by the Library to enjoy the movie and some popcorn.
Sunday, Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. Gardenside Music: The North Oakland Concert Band will be at the Library playing Dixieland tunes in the Library Atrium.
The library is located at 530 Pontiac Rd. in Oxford.
