Virginia Lee “Chic” Drumheller, formerly of Oxford, passed away on Aug. 28, 2019. She was 89.
Chic was the adored and cherished wife for 64 years of the late Charles A. Drumheller.
Loving mother of Timothy (Mary Lynne) Drumheller of Grand Rapids, MI and the late Linda Ogger of Oxford.
Chic was the proud grandmother of Stacy (Chris) May of Attica, MI, Justin Drumheller of Longmont, CO, and the precious great-grandson, Patrick (Katie) May, of Lapeer. Chic also leaves behind her dear sister-in-law, Beverly Drumheller and her loving nieces and nephews; Charlene, Vicki, Lori, Carolyn, Shelley, Tammy, Dan, Wendy, and the late Ed.
She also leaves behind many close great nieces and nephews that she loved and enjoyed very much.
Chic was preceded in death by her parents, John and Verge Zebock. Siblings; Wallace (Jean) Scott, Richard (Blanche) Scott, Bob (Adaline) Scott, and Mary Louise (Herald) Weickels.
After Chic and Chuck raised their family in Riverview, MI, owning and operating restaurants and grocery stores.
They moved to Oxford in 1971 where they owned and operated the Oxford IGA grocery store. Chic made countless friends in the community and made everyone who came into the store feel like family.
She knew how to enjoy life and made everyone feel wonderful when they were around her.
She was quick with a compliment and always found something nice to say about everyone.
Chic was a truly positive and inspirational woman who was admired by many people. She loved her family and she showed it with the things that she did with and for them.
Chic and Chuck loved to travel around the world, but especially enjoyed their vacation time at their condo in Arizona. Arizona was their home away from home with family, friends, and best friends Jim and Jeanette Tibbs.
Chic was an avid golfer and could be found at Oxford Hills three times a week every summer. She had a natural skill and love for the game and carded two holes in one!
Chic was so deeply loved by her family, friends, and pets that she always put first. She changed the life of everyone that she touched for the better.
Chic will be deeply missed.
