Culver’s OKed

Butterburgers are coming to Oxford.

Last week, township planning commissioners voted 6-0 to grant special land use approval, along with preliminary and final site plan approvals, for a 4,105-square-foot Culver’s restaurant with 55 parking spaces.

“It’s a good plan,” said Commissioner Jack Curtis.

It will be constructed on a 3.46-acre piece of vacant land located on the west side of M-24 between Tractor Supply Co. to the north and the Oxford Bank Mortgage Center to the south.

The restaurant owner is Andrew Zielke, an Independence Township resident and owner of Rosetta Building Company. He owns two other Culver’s restaurants in Rochester Hills and Livonia.

Special land use approval was required per the zoning ordinance because the Culver’s will have a drive-through window on the south side of the building.
