John (known to many as Jack) Francis Carr, of Oxford, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019
surrounded by his loved ones. He was 83.
He was a one of a kind man and if you knew him, you LOVED him. He loved God, his family, his friends, his Rottweiler (Diesel), and Notre Dame football. He loved to spend his free time golfing and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was hilarious and could tell a joke or a story like nobody else. He rarely complained, didn’t sweat the small stuff and was grateful for every day he was given on this Earth. He worked hard and when he wasn’t working he was always dressed to impress, even if he wasn’t going anywhere. Jack was there for his wife and children whenever they needed him and is already missed by them immensely.
Jack is survived by his loving wife Phyllis. His first wife Marianne with whom he had five children; Catherine (George) McNabb, John (Jill) Carr, Kimberly (Timothy) Gibbs, Marianne (Jeffrey) Mertz, Joseph (Julie) Carr, 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and his wonderful dog Diesel.
