Bob Hubbard

On Wednesday, October 23, 2019, Bob Hubbard, father of four wonderful daughters, grandpa to two adorable granddaughters and the best husband in the world passed away at age 71.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, John, and mother, Virginia. He is survived by wife, Kathy of 39 years November 8th, his four daughters, Ann (Tim) Offer, Kate (Jeremy Ison), Beth, and Clare, and his two granddaughters, Alivia and Abigail Offer.

Bob was born on July 27, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in Rochester, Michigan where he attended Rochester High School and made lifelong friends. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University where he was also a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. After a number of years working at Oldsmobile in Lansing, Bob returned to Oxford to help his parents run the family business, Oxford Hills. Bob was fortunate enough to have employees that became family.

He had a strong passion as well as talent for the game of golf. He especially loved playing with his wife, Kathy, in outings, the annual Screen Door Open as well as the countless league nights. He was a supporter of the community, which took the form of being heavily involved in the Optimist Club and the Chamber of Commerce, donating to the various charities that were important to him as well as supporting local youth and high school sports teams.

Bob received a kidney transplant from his loving wife, best friend and soulmate, Kathy on November 2, 2016. This gift brought life back to Bob and gave him nearly 3 precious years creating new memories with his family and friends. Bob was everlastingly grateful for this gift and always supported the perhaps frequent remodeling visions of his wife.

Bob loved his daughters and son-in-laws and often bragged about the things they accomplished in their lives to others. He proudly wore the shirts of the universities they attended. He enjoyed spending his winters in Florida with his wife, meeting new and beloved friends and enjoying the game of golf. He loved to travel to visit his family around the country and when he couldn’t join them on their trips he would travel vicariously with his Atlas as they took their journeys.

Bob’s never-ending stories and sense of humor will keep us smiling, laughing, and crying. We will all miss you so very much.

A funeral from Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors in Oxford was held on Oct. 28. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to K-9 Stray Rescue League in Oxford, MI, https://www.k9stray.com/index.php.
