An Orion Township woman told the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department that a man attempted to rob her at knifepoint outside of her apartment building on Dec. 11.
According to an OCSD report, the 36-year-old woman said she had just returned home to her Elmhurst Circle apartment building with her daughter when she saw a black male, described as approximately five-feet, 10-inches tall, and weighing 175 pounds, standing in front of her building. The woman said she came around the side of the building, and he ran towards her, demanding her purse and showing a knife.
The woman screamed and dropped her child down an embankment, then fell down the same embankment herself. She said at that point the man fled.
The woman described the suspect as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweat pants, and said he was in his 20s to late 30s in age.
