Dear Editor,
A quick letter of appreciation as well as a show of support for a local business. On August, 9 we had a golf outing/fundraiser for the “ISPANS” Sportsman’s social club in Ferndale at the Oxford Hills Golf Course. The Hubbard family (owners of Oxford Hills) has helped us make this event successful for the last 10 years.
Special recognition is due for Tim Kalohn, the Manager of Oxford Hills, for his help coordinating the outing from start to finish. You may remember Tim from a year or two ago when he rushed out on the course and provided life-saving CPR to a golfer who collapsed due to a health issue.
Some of the other staff who made this a huge success are Jordan, Tiffany on the beverage cart and Anthony in the cart barn.
Our club depends on these fundraisers to survive, especially with 2020 being such a sub par (no pun intended) year for people getting out to socialize and have a good time. Tim and his people provided a SAFE and enjoyable day for all participants. I will tell you all he is not only the type of guy who would give you the shirt off his back if needed, he actually gave one golfer his belt for the day when he had a wardrobe malfunction.
Thanks again to Oxford Hills Golf Club.
Sincerely, Ed Turowski
Oxford
