Next Wednesday (April 14) the Oxford Public Library plays host to the Paxton/Spangler Band.
The group will present one hour of classic jazz and swing, songs from the Great American Songbook, some New Orleans funk and more.
Drummer RJ Spangler has been on the Detroit music scene for many years. In fact, he earned his first Motor City Music Award in 1982 with a band he co-founded called the Sun Messengers. After 15 years as a Messenger, RJ went on to running the band for Detroit blues guitar master Johnnie Bassett. With Johnnie, RJ made his way coast to coast in both the US and Canada as well as many European tours.
This program will be available to a limited number of in person participants as well as virtually. Registration is required. A reminder e-mail with the Meeting I.D. and Pass Code will be sent to virtual participants before the program begins. The music starts at 7 p.m.
