Tate Myre died in a patrol car as a deputy rushed him to a hospital.
Can someone from the state of Michigan please explain to our community why the application by Beaumont to build a hospital in Oxford was denied? Think about the proposed location: next to Meijer, the reunification site!
I don’t know if a hospital would have been up and running by now. I fail to understand why our community, that has grown so much, is not deserving of a hospital.
Why does the state think it is OK for the nearest hospital to be 20 minutes (minimum) away? Lapeer, Rochester Hills or Pontiac are the choices for the residents of our community. That is no longer acceptable.
Why would the state deny a private company the right to build a hospital that can serve the needs of our community? Answer: To make sure the existing hospitals are sufficiently near capacity. That’s disgusting to me. Fast forward to today and we hear that hospitals are full due to Covid and we don’t have a hospital in Oxford. Excess capacity should be available; not restricted.
A local hospital is the difference between life and death. That was on display Tuesday.
