Libraries to talk budgets and more

 Both public libraries in Oxford and Addison townships placed public notices in this week’s Leader – both about upcoming meetings they are hosting next week. The notices can be read on Page 00.

First up on Aug. 16 is the Addison Township Public Library public meeting, slated to start at 7 p.m. According to the notice, discussed will be, “The budget hearing will cover the proposed expenditures and estimated revenue of the 2023 fiscal year budget. The total will be presented for review, adjustments, discussion, and/or action on the general appropriations resolution.” The meeting will be at the library, 1400 Rochester Road. The notice also stated, “Public attendance and participation at the meeting is encouraged.”

Oxford Public Library’s annual budget hearing is the following night, Aug. 17 also starting at 7 p.m. According to their notice, the library board will “set the property tax millage rate” and to adopt the 2023 fiscal year operating budget. This meeting will take place at the library, located at 530 Pontiac Street.
