Oxford Township announced last week that the Oxford Fire Dept. is offering the American Heart Association’s Family and Friends CPR classes to the public, free of charge, on a monthly basis for two years.
According to CJ Carnacchio, the township’s Communications and Grants Manager, the CPR training equipment and instructor time are being paid for from $12,465 grant from the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan and a $1,600 donation from the Chaldean Community Foundation.
The two-hour class is for anyone who wants to learn how to effectively help family, friends, coworkers and strangers in a medical emergency – regardless if they are township residents. These classes are not for people seeking a course completion or certification card.
The first four classes will each be limited to 20 participants and run from 6 to 8 p.m. They are scheduled for:
• Wednesday, Sept. 27
• Wednesday, Oct. 18
• Tuesday, Nov. 7
• Tuesday, Dec. 5
Register online at tinyurl.com/yzsryjt4. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
