The Wildcats suffered some close losses on the hardwood last week.
Oxford battled against Waterford Kettering on Jan. 26 and lost 61-60.
‘We had multiple opportunities to win the game, but sometimes things don’t go your way,? said Head Coach Dave Brown. ‘We are working hard every day to make sure when we are in that situation again, the outcome will be different.?
The Wildcats were led by Ray Luvine with 19 points, Jordan Jadan with 12 and Jeam Linares with 10.
On Friday, the boys took on the Lake Orion Dragons. Despite the Wildcats scratching and clawing, the Dragons bested them 71-65. ‘Orion was a very tough team with good players as well as a well-coached team,? Brown said. ‘We battled throughout the game and continue to show improvement, however, Orion won the battle on the boards and was able to edge out the victory.?
Top scorers for Oxford were Jadan with 25 points and Linares with 12.
The boys will take the floor next when they travel to Ferndale on Feb. 5.
