The board also voted to let Allied Construction re-work the township hall’s lower parking lot from 21 parking spots to 49. Allied offered the lowest of eight bids for the project, $228,899. The project is slated to start next month, and (depending on weather) take about four weeks to complete.
The parking lot is sometimes referred to as the Oakland County Sheriff’s substation lot.
Supervisor Curtis also noted that Jerry Suzore, owner of Carport Structures Corporation on Metamora Road, “wanted to giveback to our Sheriff substation for all they do for our community,” so they donated a 16-parking spot structure for the lot. The structure will also inlcude charging stations for electric vehicles. The value of the structure is $90,000.
