Oxford’s boys soccer team played another week of tough games. The team got points on the board during each, but wasn’t able to clinch both games.
On Thursday night, the Wildcats dropped a tough match against Romeo 3-1. Junior midfielder Christian Escalante scored the Wildcats’ only goal during the non-league loss.
Earlier in the week, the Wildcats secured a win against Bloomfield Hills at home on Sept. 11.The boys overcame the Black Hawks 2-0. Senior defender Jesus Escalante and sophomore midfielder Pedro Bottene reveled in being able to score two goals at home on the famous blue turf.
On the defensive end, sophomore keeper Tristan Bennett kept numerous shots on goal out of Oxford’s net, securing the win.
The team was also scheduled to play Seaholm on Sept. 17, but the game was postponed.
Last week’s games move Oxford’s record to 6-3-2 overall. The boys hit the field next at Royal Oak on Sept. 25
