Area voters who requested absentee ballots for the Aug. 2 Primary Election should start receiving them shortly. Absentee ballots started to go out two weeks ago in Oxford Township and according to Addison Township Clerk Pauline Bennette, if you requested an absentee ballot, “your ballot should be mailed by June 27.”
In Addison Township, if voters are interested in voting absentee, you may request an absentee ballot application by email pbennett@addisontwp.org, or by phone 248 628 3317 ext 216 or 217 or the Secretary Of State website Michigan Voter Information https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/
The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local Clerk is Monday, July 18. After this date, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency at the Addison Township Clerk’s Office during regular business hours, Saturday, July 30, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Qualified voters in Oxford who have not already registered, may register to vote at the office of the Township Clerk, the office of the County Clerk, a Secretary of State branch office, or other designated state agency. Registration forms can be obtained at mi.gov/vote and mailed to the Township Clerk. Voters who are already registered may update their registration at www.expressSOS.com .
According to Oxford Township Clerk Curtis Wright, the last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk is Monday, July 18. After this date, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency Clerk’s Office During regular business hours: Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; or Saturday July 30 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and on Election Day, Aug. 2 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Voters in both Oxford and Addison will cast votes for: County Commissioner – 5th District
Dem Justin Willcock or RepMichael Spisz.
In Addison Township voters will be asked to vote for Addison Township Trustee –vote for only one: Rep Mary A. Frost ; Rep Kenneth J. H. Matheis; or Rep Ron Renaud. Plus three proposals: Addison Township Fire Department Operating and Advanced Life Support Ambulance Services; Addison Township Police Protection and Police Operations; and North Oakland Transportation Authority Millage Renewal
Oxford Township voters will be asked to vote for one Trustee, Rep Catherine Colvin; and to renew a millage for the North Oakland Transportation Authority.
