Addison allocates CDBG funds

Addison Township received more than $18,000 this year in federal Community Development Block Grant funds.
The federal grant money is distributed to each municipality for community improvements, specifically for seniors groups, lower income population, and physically challenged residents.
On November 4 the township held a public hearing for suggestions and allocation of the funding.
The board unanimously agreed to devote $8,831 to senior transportation services and almost $6,600 for improvements to the senior center, including window and storm door improvements.
Over $3,000 will go to the continued process of ordinance indexing, and $500 will be allocated for the senior citizen holiday party.
