Aloha Agnes (French) Mitchell, 94, passed away Sept. 13, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by husband Charles James Mitchell and daughter Janice (Bill) Wedge. She is survived by daughters Linda (Mark) Schafrick, Nancy (Steven) Thumser and Charles J Mitchell Jr. She is also survived by grandchildren Zachary, Erich, Emily, Jeremy, Jeffery, Rachel, Randy, Amber, Charlie and Hunter. A lifelong resident of Oxford, Aloha’s grandfather JR French built many of the houses on Pontiac Street as well as others, including the one she grew up in. She resided from 1961 until her death in the house next to her childhood home, which JR built for himself and his family. Aloha faced many physical challenges throughout her life with strength, dignity and grace. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Her unfailing positive spirit was a joy and inspiration to all who were blessed to know her. Funeral from Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford, on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024 at noon with a visitation from 11 a.m. to noon. Interment is at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Oxford. Memorials may be made to Compassus Hospice.
