More movie magic happened in Oxford Township on Monday as yet another film was shot using one of the community’s famed gravel-mining properties as a location.
Part of ‘Close Quarters,? a movie for the Lifetime Television network, was filmed on the 1,200-acre Koenig Sand & Gravel property located along Lakeville Rd.
Shooting in Oxford only lasted for one day. Other scenes will be filmed elsewhere in Michigan.
The movie stars Catherine Bell in a role that’s similar to a female version of Matt Damon in ‘The Bourne Identity.?
Bell currently stars in Lifetime’s weekly drama series ‘Army Wives.? She starred on the popular series ‘JAG? from 1997-2005.
The Leader attempted to get on the ‘Close Quarters? set, but was denied access. Even though a business card was left, no one associated with the movie called the paper.
Peter Fredericks, one of Koenig’s owners, said he can’t comment on the movie due to contractual obligations.
This was the second time this year a movie’s been filmed on an Oxford gravel property. Back in August, part of the $80 million film ‘Real Steel,? starring Hugh Jackman, was shot on the American Aggregates property located west of M-24 between Dunlap and Hummer Lake roads.
